Today's premiere comes from another outstanding release on Sharpson's Choki Biki Records, as Josh Coakley launches his Coakley Collabs Vol.1 collaborative EP, curated by Josh himself.

Coakley Collabs Vol.1 consists of six techno orientated collaborations between Josh Coakley and other Irish talent including; blk., Sharpson, jxck, KIRK, Karl Seery and Black Traffic. Each track varies between a blend of acid, electro, trance and breakbeat, under the umbrella of Coakley’s signature techno sound.

Today's premiere "Fade To Grey' comes from Josh Coakley's collaboration with Scott Prendergast AKA Black Traffic. The pair have composed a track that tows the lines between trance and melodic techno. Black Traffic's signature use of rich textures and melodies contrast with Coakley's hard core techno drum programming. 

Coakley Collabs Vol.1 comes out via Sharpson's imprint; Choki Biki Records on the 22nd of April. It will be available as 12” vinyl also on all major digital streaming platforms courtesy of Lobster Theremin.

Sub Luv is a high energy track made for dancefloors. It threads a thin line between house and techno in a similar vein to other tracks in the series such as Swaine's Forza and Dolan's Melohaus. It’s time for a new compilation in our house and we have some good music to fill it up. This collection of talent is going to be served in two flavours, the physical one a four cut vinyl EP featuring previously only digital tracks and the second one a ten track selection from our back catalogue featuring some of the best producers in our family.

Asier Morillas ( A4 )  is probably one of the most original sci fi specialists out there and he’s been part of our sound since his first steps into production. His track Kynosoura is a perfect example of hi tech jazz.

David Reina is also a science fiction specialist, also featured with a full length work in our catalogue, our pick for this collection is Autoscopy, a mental and complex sonic voyage into the best outer space techno.

From Mod 21 we have selected one of his most played tools, Escalation of Violence, the perfect hypnotic drill to boost your mixes properly.

Vertical Spectrum brings us to hyperspace in BALN006 combining a distorted groove with floating alien bleeps in a sci-fi techno masterpiece.

This four cuts will be pressed on wax, let’s talk about the next eight:

From his Idle Ep we have chosen Temudo’s Spiritual Song, a merciless floor weapon heavily tested on the best clubs and big stages out there. 

Next comes BiiBii by Null Forms approaching a more abstract and sci-fi terrain, maintaining the danceable pulse and well-managed distortion. The result is more mental and synthetic. A kind of controlled chaos.

Axial Rotation from Translate starts with a fast paced groove, heavily bass fuelled with a continuous synth line moving across the basement. All sound elements are constantly mutating and evolving although the mood is linear and loopy.

Eight cut comes from Dutch veteran Dimi Angelis, the third from his 
A Journal of Impossible Things EP from 2023. The hypnotic bleep penetrates your mind while the dirty sound of the old drum machine sets the pace for your feet. Special mention to the occasional resonant sweep that appears from time to time creating the required tension.

On the ninth, Ruman’s Lizard from Where The Ring Ends LP, mental and hypnotic, perfect for adding tension to a mix, again heavily tested on the best dancefloors extensively.

Closing the release, CONCEPTUAL with Red Sun a magnificent closing anthem, no more words needed here.

Over two decades ago, Roland Leesker would play and produce with artists that are legends today. Slaving away with Ricardo Villalobos in his living room, creating loops with John Selway at New York´s Satellite basement, working as a light jockey for Joe Jam and Marc Spoon, cooking the heat together with Cajmere and ATA at the Wild Pitch Club, or running various record shops around the globe. Since then, he’s invested much of his time, knowledge, heart and soul into electronic music to further the scene and support the art. Now, he’s returned to the studio with his production partner Philipp Maier also known as Santé to bring you a new instant classic, ‘My Warehouse’

In a way, you could say ‘My Warehouse’ has been in the making for 25 years. In that time Roland Leesker has studied the music, gathering inspiration from the sounds, people and experiences along the way and putting them all together to create his perfect sound. ‘My Warehouse’ is a bass-laden House killer, with intense kicks and a gritty, in-your-face bassline.

Rogue D is the new solo project from Danny Minchella. Under this new moniker he delivers the eagerly awaited Chains. Set to be one of the biggest tracks of the year, it’s a high octane, club-ready number with abundant driving percussion. Unstoppable force Patrick Topping is also back on home ground for the remix.

“Chains was inspired by Jamie 3:26’s and Cratebug’s edit of Loretta Holloway ‘Hit N Quit’ - I wanted a simple, raw track, killer bassline and a soulful vocal. The process was very fast and I made the majority of the groove in one morning. I dug deep in my collection, looking for that special vocal and came across Steve Silk Hurley’s “Chain of Fools’ (with Aretha Franklin on the original vocal), and it just made the record pop!” - Rogue D

As an artist Minchella has played some of the world’s most esteemed establishments and released on a wealth of high profile labels. He now aims to use his Rogue D guise as a means to express his forward thinking and personal tastes in sound- from techno to old school garage to the sounds of Detroit. He’s already released on DFTD as well as providing a remix of Soul Clap’s Misty on Classic Music Company.

In his relatively short career so far, label favourite Patrick Topping has made the cover of Mixmag, won a coveted DJ Mag Best Of British award and made the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs. He’s released some of the biggest tracks on Hot Creations and is resident for Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC10. On his rework of Chains, Topping isolates the vocal and adds a tribal bounce to proceedings.
