"Realpdistan" is an album of synthpop songs by the northern English bedroom-pop band Real PD and released in February 2013. The album features Adrian Brailsford on keyboards, with vocals by Mark Cahill, Claire Baker-Donnelly and Alistair Cumberford, who also contributed keyboards and programming. Richard Entwistle played guitar. The album was produced by Alistair Cumberford and Max Brodie, who produced the band's vocals at The Box Studio in Littleton, Chester. The album features the single 'Dangerous Chihuahua'.

'And There Was Wine' is the third full-length ensemble tape-recorded album by the band who started life as Potential Difference, and the first under the name 'Real PD': at some point between 'Paranormal' and this, the band of sixteen year-olds discovered that there was another local band going under the same physics-lesson inspired moniker, so they took inspiration from hip-hop's 'Real Roxanne', and Real PD was born. On this album, new member Adrian Brailsford brought added a warm organic piano sound to the band's geeky, trebly keyboards, with the haphazard naïvety of the two previous records still very much intact.

Stop Me From Starting This Feeling

Real PD band member Guy Wigmore was unavailable to join the others during school Easter holidays in 1986, so rather than sitting around until the band could reconvene, Alistair Cumberford, Adrian Brailsford and Mark Cahill decided to embark on a side project instead. And what an odd and experimental side-project Sandwich in Motion was. A violin, a zither and sundry percussion instruments were pressed into service to add a zany seasoning to the usual casiopop keyboard recipe, and songs were allowed to break free of usual structural and lyrical constraints. Easy listening this isn't - it's largely a chaotic mess which will make your temples throb -  but the anarchic energy of three fifteen year old boys going musically off the leash is undeniable.

A cover of The Fall's 'Hit the North' provides a clue as to what they were aspiring to. 'Popstars' isn't an easy listen but it's an interesting diversion in the group's catalogue.

Real PD are a lo-fi synthpop band from northern England, founded in 1984 by 13 year-old aspiring post-punk singer/songwriter Alistair Cumberford. The current incarnation of the band comprises keyboardist Adrian Brailsford, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mark Cahill, Cumberford, vocalist Claire Baker-Donnelly and guitarist Richard Entwistle. In its 34-year history the band has rarely performed live, with a focus instead on writing and recording original songs, mostly with an emphasis on melody and with a characteristically broad range of lyrical subject matter. The band's latest album, 'The Magenta Agenda' was released in January 2020 and features the singles 'French Kids,' 'The Way You Walk', 'Murderers' Gloves' and 'Magenta'.
