This week's guest is Italian DJ and Producer Musta, who has a fantastic BIO which you can read below :-)

His love for music begins very early, during the 11 years spent in the Dominican Republic. This encounter, made of Latin rhythms, starts the musical genre contamination that, to this day, distinguishes his productions. Lover of Funky, Disco, Boogie, Afro, and Tribal, his music portrays a fascinating mix of genres, intertwined in a fusion that combines the old and the new according to a personal reinterpretation, respectful of the past but constantly innovative. 

The Musta Project is rhythm, is exploring, is experimenting: in his pieces, we find a powerful ancestral call, where drums and percussions mark the rhythm, combined with contemporary harmonies from Electronic, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and House music.

His tracks speak of colours, encounters, and circumstances embedded in the mind, that are introduced to us with a rhythmiccharge in continued evolution.

It is not rare to find, in Musta’s sounds, unconventional impulses coming up from the past: it’s here that the imperfections from the vintage recordings acquire value becoming an important source of inspiration, from which Musta draws to create original and innovative sounds, a unique mood that finds an authentic harmony in the artist reinterpretation.

In 2018, together with internationally renowned DJ Stefano Rittieri, Musta founds the label Viaggio Recordings, responsible to this day for the production of four albums, both vinyl and digital. In 2019 “Mangiamo” is released, a fusion of vocals, Afro, Funk, sax, percussions, and bass, number one for several months in the Afro Latin Brazilian section of the Traxsource.

A little more about the guy:
Dance floor romancer, rhythmical renaissance man, and preceptor of positive vibes: this is the Groove Antenna. Adept in a range of subjects that spans a degree in HVAC/R, bike mechanics, computer building, silly walks, old school vinyl rave DJing, and producing insatiable beats. Founder/owner of Ravetank Records. The one and only unstoppable Ravetank!

This ol' rave relic cares not for rhythmical rules and follows no trends. He relies on his audio acumen to decimate dance floors from dusk til' dawn; with one prime directive, to transform you in to a sweat soaked hot mess of rave gravy while you dance like no one is watching, and finally leaving you exhausted and enraptured wondering "what jus' happened".

Getting his start back in the after hour glory days of the East Coast rave scene, The Groove Antenna, (formally Jacksonstrut), has a love for music that is matched only by his passion for dancing. During a long musical revolution through many genres of electronic music he has been bringing the groove, swing, funk, soul and jack to dance floors from Nova Scotia to Quebec for the better part of two decades, closing out such clubs as Reflections, The Palace, La Sonar, Sub Rosa, Nitro, Oxygen and many others along side of some of the industries biggest names including:
Inland Knights, Doc Martin, Fort Knox 5, Bobby C Sound TV, Snails, Rescue, DJ Mes, The Funk Hunters, A-Paul, Corduroy Mavericks, Jose Zaragoza, Iz & Diz, Dok Link, Scratch Bastid, Veev, and DJ Dan to name a few.

Jacksonstrut, ‘aka’ The Groove Antenna, combines high energy stage presence with seductive vocals, funky bass lines, driving rhythms, and pounding drums to create an intimate atmosphere all his own. Known for his epic sunrise sets at the Evolve Festival, and his funky filtered after hours sets, The Groove Antenna can often be found dancing harder behind the decks than most of the crowd. His love of music has been influenced over the years by artists such as The Greenskeepers, Moloko, Modjo, Fatboy Slim, Armand Van Heldon, Cassius, and DJ Dan, as well as by local artists including Dale Mannette, Tommy Knuckles and Rickey Reid.

So, a little while ago - 2015 to be precise... we had an absolute cracking mix on Series 1 of the FUNKcast from head honcho at Jackin.cz - PIF... so I reached out again to reconnect and had a lovely catch up with this guy, since we last spoke we both got married but we both still are running our little House Music HQs and have never lost the love for it.

So lets welcome back to the FUNKcast for Series 3 - Mr Jackin.CZ - PIF... this ones hot!!!

A little more about PIF:
DJ PIF's journey into the world of DJing began with a deep love for music in 2005 when he was recognized by a local DJ and radio host in Czech Republic. As he started to learn the craft of mixing, he was also passionate about being a radio host on a local radio station. This love stayed with him as he was hosting a show for 4 years on Amsterdam Most Wanted radio. Now he hosts a show on the RadioB.cz called Pifoviny.

In 2011 he founded Jackin.cz collective and with DJ MarkyP they put Jackin House firmly on the map in the Czech scene.

He played in numerous clubs all around Czech Republic, being resident in Prague’s Hilton Cloud 9 and also the hub for Czech underground house scene - Pekelnej bar. Sharing stages with international icons, to name a few DJ Sneak, Golf Clap, Flapjackers, Craig Hamilton, Johny Fiasco, Trevor Vichas, and JR From Dallas. They inspired him to start creating his own tracks and since 2012 his tracks were released on labels like Doing Work Records, Full House Digital, Treasured Grooves and more.
