ABOUT ME ...

Producer/Songwriter Candace Metoyer p.k.a. Reazson, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, has endured a tumultuous journey in developing her craft in becoming who she is today. Inspired unto percussion primarily by her father, she began to play percussion instruments at the young age of nine years old. Her father is a percussionist that has played with the greats such as Marvin Gaye, Santana, Curtis Mayfield, The Five Stair Steps and also toured stages with the Brothers Johnson.  Aspiring to develop worldwide artists of all genres and score film someday, Reazson started making beats and teaching herself how to record/program on various music equipment and later came software. 

She is also highly inspired and driven by dance and performing arts. Throughout her career she has already worked with many seasoned producers in the game. Formerly, in a three girl group with producer Mario “Yellowman” Winans, the group later dismembered to pursue individual careers. She has also worked with many other talented producers from "Michael Angelo" Salisbury and Stevie "Hitman" Jordan to Che “Pope” Gueverra and not to say the least having written to the likings of West Coast native, Andre Young, better known as the infamous Dr. Dre. 

In addition, her first time ever recording rap vocals was at (formerly) Enterprise Studios, in front of Sean "P.Diddy" Combs himself. She is truly grateful to have had all of these amazingly motivating experiences as an artist and she feels, any presence that has graced her is definitely for a Reazson! 

Determined to follow through with the goals she had set out to accomplish, she completed a few mixtape projects, which she rapped on with other female MC's. Through a few failed attempts, obstacles have done nothing more than help her learn even more about her career and the direction she is traveling in with her truly eclectic music and endeavors as a new filmmaker in the process of scoring various projects in the making. ABOUT THE MUSIC ...

Though we have some great sampled music out there today, I  still uphold a personal respect for those who make their own original music and sound design. The challenge is the fun part. 

Inspired by amazing dancers and formerly being in a girl group, it took me so long to learn nothing is perfect and to just let go and let people hear my creations. 

A big hump for me was letting go of being an artist. My focus now is developing new, unique talent and bringing what I'm feeling to the table and ears worldwide. My main genres of interest have always been hip hop and r&b, but I always prefer to go left with my sound, or somehow make the beat different (changes, weird sounds, doing something unpredictable, etc.). The real struggle has been to be consistent with the times. I'm always ahead of the game:) J/k.. I'd like to think:) 

Some of the beats on this page are over four (4) years old! I continue to build my library until I'm overwhelmed with categorizing my original beats. My stronger side is percussion and I love a slight melody over heavy percussive sound and then building over the vocals.

I will continue to post more music and my website with beats for sell/sale/lease (non-exclusive and Creative Commons) is coming when the energy is right…stay tuned people!
