Daedelus: Music To... Get Into Bed With

Rebearth is a Music Producer/Composer and MC/Spoken Word Poet based in Hong Kong by way of Montreal where he studied music. Known for his raw lyrics and unique emotive beats dripping with cinematic melodies, lush soundscapes, heavy basslines and polyrhythmic drum patterns that swing and BUMP; Rebearth is sonically eclectic yet immediately recognizable.

Besides freestyling as an MC alongside international DJ's such as Friction, Kode9 and Dub Phizix, Rebearth has been performing live sets showcasing original songs and beats. He is also involved with a few bands including his very own Chinese orchestra band "Chi Harmonix" and a Nu-Jazz band "J.O.S". A few organizations he's performed for include: Clockenflap and TEDxHK. He has opened for artists such as Koop (Atlantic Records), Free the Robots (Alpha Pup Records) and Slugabed (Ninja Tunes).

Rebearth has released 2 albums, one being part of a Multimedia Art exhibition which also included a book of his poetry. He was involved with a cinematic opera “1984” which was directed by Nerve (aka Steve Hui) where Rebearth poetically reinterpreted a few chapters of George Orwell’s classic novel.
His latest project was as Music Director for Broadway Cinamatheque's 20th Anniversary where Rebearth composed, scored and performed live music to 2 silent films (Georges Melies' "A Trip to the Moon" & Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid").
