Is it sad to say that I have sung at more funerals than weddings? 

My grandmother Pauline recently passed, and it marked the 3rd grandparent I sang this song for at a funeral. This song means a lot to me, and to my family. Therefore I thought I'd share it with you all. I apologise for the shakiness, I can't sing this song without getting emotional.

Recently recorded my own version of Harry Styles' song 'Sweet Creature' with Alistair Marsden at Urban Jungle Studios. The stripped back nature of this song along with the heartfelt lyrics are what drew me to this song (in addition to my love of Harry Styles and his music in general). Toxic - Bec Slade Cover

Rebecca Slade is a 27 year old multi-genre vocalist from Brisbane, Australia. Some people refer to her vocal sound as "euphoric" and “softly seductive”. 

Bec’s vocal training consisted of primarily classical music and music theatre from ages 6 to 18. This enabled her to perform in several productions including Opera Queensland’s Hansel and Gretel, as well as Turandot at the young age of 12 and 13.

With several eisteddfod wins for her vocal performances and over 7 vocal grades completed with AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board), Bec’s love of music did not stop there. 

From 2003-2011, Bec was also an active member of the Queensland Youth Choir (now known as Queensland Show Choir). This enabled her to perform with the likes of Kate Ceberano, Troy Cassie-Daley, Mirusia Louwerse, Nikki Webster, Luke Kennedy, Jason Barry-Smith and more.

In high-school, Bec completed her International Baccalaureate studies at Queensland Academy for Creative Industries; majoring in Music (Vocals). This then led to her being accepted as one of the few vocalists chosen for University of Queensland’s Bachelor of Music (Voice) program. 

Since then, Bec has kept a low profile with her music however still continues to record and write music as a creative outlet with the hopes of performing more in the year to come.
