A rare mix from the originator of Techno, Juan Atkins, as part of the celebration of three decades of Tresor, the German nightclub, label, and institution.

Recorded at the Tresor club in Berlin at the beginning of 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic turned the world upside-down, the mix spans the full spectrum of sub-genres that Techno has evolved into from its beginnings with Juan and his peers in 1980s Detroit. As such the mix is true testament to the genre from one of its founding fathers.

Juan’s classic track I Love You features on the forthcoming Tresor 30 compilation - 52 tracks of classics and exclusive commissions that map the flight path of Techno from the pioneers to the producers of today and tomorrow. This alongside the recent reissue of the seminal 3MB record Juan made alongside Moritz Von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann perfectly encapsulates the long-lasting connection between Juan Atkins and Tresor, between Detroit and Berlin.

Rebecca Goldberg is a DJ, producer, live performer and designer from Detroit, MI. Since her debut release, 313 Acid Queen, she has been affiliated with the multidisciplinary arts collective, Detroit Underground.

Women in Vinyl Mission Statement: Empowering women, female-identifying, non-binary, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and otherwise marginalized humans working in the industry to create, preserve and improve the art of music on vinyl.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ORLANDO VOORN

Orlando is one of the first Dutch techno producers/musicians to establish a vital  connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90ʼs. 
Orlando Voorn has long been recognized as one of the Netherlandʼs most original and ingenious techno producers in the world of electronic dance music. Voorn began DJing at the early age of 12 years old and later went on to win his first  scratch competition at Amsterdam “Club Flor3 P3l3ce”. 
Amazingly Voorn did this by borrowing records from his competitor.
Voorn used many Aliases’ back when he started to produce records in order to present various styles of music without limitation to producing only techno. It was a common fad to use fictitious names as it is today. Voorn has never limited himself to one particular style of producing. You could easily say that he is incredibly versatile in switching between many styles that demonstrates him as a well known producer.
He did recordings for a legendary Detroit techno and house label KMS Records, an imprint of Kevin Saunderson using yet another alias known as “Fix” where he created a dance floor destroyer track called “Flash” which remains in many DJʼs crates at this moment. “Flash” became a hit in the Detroit clubs first before the record had broken out internationally. 
Voorn has a well-known history of working with Detroitʼs techno originatorʼs including derrickmay imprint “Fragile” under yet another alias “Complex” entitled “Midi Merge”. 
His Stunning Album on Rush Hour under his own name "In My World who hit the number one favorite Album of 2016. Not to mention a full collab Album. Frequency vs Juan Atkins in 2017 on OUTER records.
In 2018 & 2019 he continues with Amazing output of music.

Kerrie started a label called Dark Machine Funk, a name which hints toward the kind of music she plays. And while the Irish artist might be a capital-T techno DJ, her idea of "dark" is a little different than the black-clad legions of her generation. You won't find whiplash-inducing BPMs or racy pop edits in her sets. Her idea of techno is more classicist, without veering towards the stuffy or the retro. Her DJIng and her productions bridge the divide between Euro and  American styles. Hints of breakbeat or other broken patterns bring in ideas from the UK techno that she loves so much, such as the pivotal label Blueprint, where she's become a regular  as of late.

With her, the devil's in the details (listen to those deliciously twisted hi-hats in recent track "Transient Belief"), and that comes down to mixing records, too. Her RA Podcast is a fast but measured run-through of 90 minutes of techno by artists like Exium and Tensal and from labels such as Token and Soma. Though none of her own tunes make the tracklist, this mix perfectly captures Kerrie's style. She's someone who appreciates that the real power and force of techno comes from its groove, not just the impact of the kick drum or pure speed.

Rebecca Goldberg is a producer, live performer, DJ and designer from Detroit. Since her debut EP, 313 Acid Queen, she has been affiliated with the multidisciplinary arts collective, Detroit Underground. She has released high-quality music and multimedia projects spanning acid techno to experimental electronic music. Carrying with her the tradition of Detroit Techno, Goldberg tours internationally as a DJ and live performer. Rebecca is a seasoned radio DJ having mixed for FM and internet-radio shows hosted across the globe. She has been featured at notable events from Detroit’s seminal Movement Festival to Tresor in Berlin.

In her live show, Rebecca focuses on sound design and the improvisational capabilities of working with electronic instruments. The result is her presentation of an energetic array of lush techno soundscapes. In early 2023 she produced a show called Upphljómun during the Reykjavík Winter Lights Festival to showcase live performances
from herself and several Icelandic artists. The event led to her penning an editorial piece published by Roland Corporation. Goldberg often incorporates original field recordings into her work. In 2022 the New BBC Radiophonic Workshop released a selection of recordings she took throughout her native Michigan for their Travel Agency project. Goldberg has written original scores for classic films, “Le Voyage Dans La Lune” and “Gojira,” which included live performances at Silencio, David Lynch’s members-only club in Paris, and Armageddon Beachparty in Detroit.

With several EPs, remixes and live releases under her belt, Goldberg has refined her style while allowing her audience to discover and appreciate her unique sound. Her dedication to keeping Detroit techno music innovative is her motivating force.
