The grieving process can look different for everyone, however, I feel it's important to talk about how to deal with it in day to day life when shedding old identities is concerned. In our fast paced society, we shed identities more quickly and it's important to be able to acknowledge when someone close to us needs our support or needs space to grieve. It's also important to let ourselves feel and process those feelings when we're going through a deathing phase. I talk about my personal experiences with this, as well as some examples that I've seen come up in client sessions.

Processing the grief of old identities or life phases.

Often times when words of judgement come out of our mouths, we don't take the time to direct them, when really, they have so much to show us. Our deep, generational patterning often lies just below the surface of those words. We've been told stories over and over from those we care about, often the same stories they were told over and over.

If you don't stick with things, you're a quitter.

If you don't retire with a pension, you'll be a failure.

When things get tough, you just have to make it work.

But what if those aren't all true? What if you're actually able to create a life outside of those limiting stories?
