This was just a spur of the moment selection. No planning what so ever. Just wanted to vibe today. Plenty of heavy tunes on here, many tunes you may know but a few more obscure 12's as well. The Pandemic has taken a toll on my health and especially my mental health. Music has been the only thing that brings me back to proper perspective. I have never been depressed before, but that is what I am dealing with now. I want to help end this stigma of mental health, so that is the reason for me sharing far more personal information than I normally do and comfortable with. But if I can help one person or make someone not feel as alone as they currently are, it is all worth it. I want to give thanks to the community for all the support over the past year it means more than you know. For anyone out there struggling, I don't care if we have ever spoked before or not. If you need someone to talk to, I would be more than humbled and more than happy to listen to you. Sometimes it just takes getting some stuff off your chest to get back moving in the right direction. I have a few very good friends who have been there for me through thick and thin, and other friends that seem to fade away when you need them to step up in hard times, but that is how life teaches you. I give thanks for all the wonderful souls I have had the pleasure to meet and call my friends. I am truly blessed and I would like to return that favor to anyone that may just need an ear to listen. Just know I am here to talk, stranger or not. I just encourage you to talk to someone. Now go have a listen and enjoy the selection. I just felt it necessary to put that out there, because many people our age still have the stigma about being the tuff guys and gals,  and that we are not supposed to talk about our feelings. That shit will eat you up. Stress in the number one killer. Talk to someone!! Doesn't need to be me, but please talk to someone. Rock The Session, Have Some Fun -  Kojak Selection (Roots One)

Dreadsquad’s single sheds new light on the phenomenon commonly known in the reggae world as “versioning’ – different versions of songs and creative recycling of rhythms tracks (riddims). "Reality" is a track originally created by Kasia Malenda with the Krakow-based producer SmokeDaCrackOFF, released on their joint EP and then on "Dub out of Poland Vol. 3", a crucial compilation released in 2009. A few years ago, it was also recorded during one of the rehearsals of the Dreadsquad Live project. Since then, this version has been played at Dreadsquad events as a dubplate. Currently, there is no heavy, slow roots reggae being produced in Poland. I came to such a conclusion when this track piece was so well received during my set at this year's festival in Wolimierz. That is why I decided to finally finish it and put it out as an official release – comments Dreadsquad and adds – I hope that despite the Polish lyrics it will also appeal to my fans around the world, and perhaps this unusual language may attract their attention.

What is “Reality” about? Singer Kasia Malenda recalls: I wrote this at a very difficult moment in my life and I think most of us have had similar experiences in our lives. Two very young people fall in love with each other, but reality creeps into their love over time – routine, adult problems, sacrifices, and compromises. They distance themselves from each other and suddenly it turns out that love alone is not enough for them to be happy together. Persistent clinging to the past shuts them from life lessons and the solace that time brings.

Mastered at Studio AS One in Warsaw, known for their work for the ones as Zion Train or Warsaw Village Band, Dreadsquad’s release also includes an instrumental version.

Interestingly, the author of the artwork is ... artificial intelligence. The illustration is an AI-generated image, created by the Dall*e software within 10 seconds after I typed the phrase "a dark painting of a woman chasing a large shadow" – Dreadsquad reveals.

Pupa Vinylist is a french reggae-lover who lives for many years in Germany. With a few friends he founded the Rebelion Soundsystem in a town called Dubstadt, where they are responsible for some of the heaviest sessions in the region with many well-established artists like Mungo's Hi Fi, Cultural Warriors, Jahtari, Subactive and Riddim Tuffa among many others.

He selects all kind of soundsystem styles from the late 60s to modern production but his favorite era is still the early 80s where Deejays “rubbed” the dubs in the yards they called dancehalls, bringing their skills over old Studio One classics, played all night long on self-build but heavy Soundsystems.

With this mixtape he wants to share his love for this very raw sound through a versatile selection, from Channel One rub a dub classics toward to the early digital productions.
