Aleksand Saya began his musical journey as an MC and beatmaker within sound systems on La Reunion island in de Indian ocean. Then he was carried by the essence of Maloya, the traditional music of La Reunion, which got him involved in a daring artistic quest by merging rhythms ancestral sounds of his native island with the modern sounds of hip- hop and electro. From this alchemy a sound is born that he calls his style M’Bass, where the vibrations of Maloya mix with the bass and deep and catchy syncopated beats.
