We welcome an immensely talented young DJ and producer to our Local Selection, as Fionn O'Regan aka FYuN steps up to the controls with a 25 track mix consisting of 100% unreleased music.

Fionn O'Regan or FYuN is a 23 year old DJ and producer based in Cork. Through his hard work and dedication FYuN has quickly made a name for himself at the forefront of the electronic music scene in the city. Before the pandemic caused havoc in Ireland and across the globe, FYuN became a regular in the Cork techno scene, sharing the booth with some of the finest DJs in the country.

Launching the Elision collective with Dave O’Neill and Jack Devine in early 2018, the team held a monthly residency in Cork's electronic capital, Dali Cork. With the nighttime industry brought to a stand till early in 2020,  FYuN has kept a strong focus on developing his own productions and unique sound, striving to incorporate the late 90s and early 00s looping techno sounds to his own style.

Taking inspiration from artists such as Bryan Zentz, Chris Liebing and Guy McAffer to name a few, this 100% unreleased mix shows just how deeply the late 90s and early 00s techno has played such a pivotal role in developing FYuN's sounds and mixing styles that we hear today.

For the next hour, whack this mix on full volume and enjoy this carefully crafted mix of original techno from a producer that will no doubt be a serious player in the Irish techno scene for years to come.

Derv is a Dublin based DJ and co-founder / resident of the Dublin collective Crane Club as well as being a resident and promoter for the Dublin collective, Hidden Love. Her mixes are versatile in sound and genre styles, however she tends to focus primarily on ghetto-tech, ghetto-house, techno and electro sounding tracks.

This mix combines 26 tracks into an hour of fast paced, high energy mixing with tracks from some of Derv's favourite artists such as Estella Boersma, Von Riu, Mell G, Floorplan and DJ Stingray.

Having recently supported DJ Slugo and X Club for their Dublin gigs, you can expect to see lots more from Derv in the coming months.

For our 173rd entry to the Local Selection Mix Series, we welcome Derv. The Dublin based DJ, promoter and co-founder/resident of parties Crane Club and Hidden Love has gifted us with a sensational mix of all things bouncy and booty bass. Strap yourself in. This gets crazy.

Derv boasts recent club supports for international heavyweights X Club, X-Coast and DJ Slugo for their stellar Dublin shows, as well as playing an assortment of Dublin gigs for a range of different parties. Some of these include Crane Club, Hidden Love, Slither, Reboot, Human Error, LTDC (Loose Tooth Dental Club) and more. It is safe to say that you can expect to hear a lot more from Derv in the very near future. 

Derv possesses a mixing style that is swift as she tends to mostly lean into high tempo ghetto-tech tracks. Derv aims to achieve versatility in her mixes and sets through the genres and sounds that she plays, however she mostly focuses on encapsulating sounds of ghetto-tech, ghetto-house and electro whilst wrapping these genres around hard-hitting techno tracks, as well as often using sounds within the house, trance and gabber genres. 

This mix combines twenty jacking ghetto-tech, techno and trance tracks into an hour of high-energy mixing with tracks from some of Derv’s biggest inspirations. Some of which include Von Riu, DJ Fuckoff, Mell G, DJ Assault and Jensen Interceptor. You can also expect tracks from talented Irish producers Ventolin (Oisin Murray) and Fiddy1 (Stephen Burke). The recording lies at just under an hour in length, which showcases Derv’s varied yet unique taste in a truly eloquent way. Sensational.

Our podcast series returns today, featuring the immensely talented and dynamic Cork-based artist, Taurean for episode 078. Taurean has graced the Prospekt platform before, having made a memorable debut supporting Keepsakes at our 5th B-Day event last November.

Originally hailing from Kerry, Taurean possesses a multifaceted musical background that draws on a wide range of genres, including jungle, experimental electronic, and classical music. However, it was her discovery of techno at the young age of 18/19 that ignited her passion for this art form.

Taurean's expertise and experience stem from immersing herself in the local clubbing scene and witnessing industry luminaries such as Sunil Sharpe, Tommy Holohan, and Jon Hopkins at Dali during their tenure at the infamous Pavillion venue on Carey's Lane. During the 2020 lockdown, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery, honing her mixing skills to elevate her passion for electronic music into an art form.

Since then, Taurean has established herself as a vital presence in the Cork clubbing circuit, forming critical connections and forging lasting friendships. Her first mix, which she unveiled in the summer of 2022, led to a gig with the local techno collective Skewed, and she has shown no signs of slowing down since. She has supported an impressive lineup of top-tier artists, including Keepsakes, Shampain, Ejeca, Yasmin Gardezi and has become a permanent fixture at Dali Cork in their new home on Tuckey Street playing for nights such as Machina.

In February 2023, Taurean took her next steps in her journey with the launch of Dollhaus, a collective endeavour aimed at fostering gender balance and diversity in the male-dominated realm of techno. Inspired by trailblazers such as NATMAC and Hopedieshere, she has organised two successful events, aiming to propel local talent and encourage women to pursue their passion in the scene.

Although Taurean derives inspiration from a wide variety of genres, her latest mix showcases her artistic vision and offers a fresh take on the classic old-school loopy techno genre. Imbued with entrancing sounds, choppy percussion, infectious basslines, and intricate broken beats, the mix delivers an immersive and all-encompassing auditory experience that is certain to enthral its listeners.
