This time round, Sem Marini is handed the A side while Mike Sharon welcomes vocalist Karina Junker for B side duties. Over the last 17 years, Sebastian Mullaert has had a long and distinguished career as one half of hardware experimentalist duo Minilogue, with releases on Cocoon, Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels.  Now opting to focus more on solo endeavors, he hits the ground running with his sublime Ovum debut. 

In an impressive display of versatility, Mullaert promptly flips the vibe from Berlin basement to Ibiza sunset with ‘Recapturing the Radical Self’. It starts off similarly enough, with brooding 303 squelches and sharp claps, but slowly ascends into a state of full-on Balearic bliss. A euphoric assembly of warm chords swell to the foreground, and chimes twinkle and dance throughout.

Up and coming Origins Sound (Glasgow Underground, Lost) present a bassy pumping UK house tune whereas Volta Cab (Kolour, Hypercolour) goes back the the rave days and invites us to some hardcore heaven. The flipside starts with Morris Audio buddy Julien Sandre, who is still some kind of “secret underground weapon”, even if he already released on Argy’s “These Days” label or on Tsuba. Finishing off the EP is ManooZ (Alive, Extended Play) with a great deep and raw house tune. This all is for you, seven daze a week!

After a successful run of singles on Tru Thoughts in 2014, Titeknots is back with brand new club cuts to launch his new label Press Something Play Something.

In a short time Titeknots has made large strides, putting his mark in the House scene with a sound that blends cut and paste rough and ready Hip Hop production techniques with House tempos. Finding a delicate balance between musicality and functional dancefloor production, the previous Titeknots releases instantly grabbed the attention of some heavy hitters in the club world. “Buzzard Walk” is a calling card for the Titeknots sound. With his original string parts chopped and layered until they sound like a loop lifted from a record, they sit on top of a driving drum track and solid bass, carrying a piece of pastoral English beauty into the club environment.
