Following their ongoing relationship with Soma Records, Ukrainian duo Woo York are set to release their new record that proves to be somewhat representative of recent dramatic events in their country. Entitled I Am Against, both the main track and the EP itself are referring to the developments that lead to revolutionary struggle of the Ukrainian people. Fighting inequality, saying what you have to say and doing what you have to do seem to be the core ideas of the record. You might have figured that out yourself by spotting a rebel protester from January's clash with riot police depicted on the record sleeve. The EP also features a special remix from UK Techno producer, Ø [Phase].

Music-wise the EP presents the same idea: the epic energy of the title track highlights the drive that was fuelling peaceful individuals to go out onto the streets and fight for their rights. An excellent remix from Ø [Phase] follows a similar path, although in its own original way that has made the UK-based artist's name associated with the finest techno to date.  Closing the EP 'In The End' is a more abstract side of Woo York's music works that reminds us once again: every single act of violence is bound to come to an end at some point.

The Grey Area mix is a collection of celebral minimalism from which is a speciality of Robert Hood.   Never before has there been an illustration of the many values of "grey" within the genre we call Minimal.
While Minimal is now a sound all on its own which varies from region to region, deep concentration takes you through the mind of one of it's pioneers for a close analysis of this particular variation. The Grey Area.

There's a soulfully longing thread tying the tracks together, from the opening anonymous tracks to Maurizio's 'M4.5' and on into previously unobserved depths with a slew of exclsuive and unreleased M-Plant style killers this is eactly the kind of selection that has won Mr. Hood a legion of devoted fans across the world, and has massively influenced the sound of the scene's biggest clubs, with Dettmann and Klock's brand of stripped but powerful techno house owing a massive debt to his sound. We're struggling to name many of the tracks here which is one of the best features of this mix, it's so fresh much of it hasn't even seen the light of day yet but we'd be massively grateful if any of the keener ears out there (or Hood himself) would like to send us a tracklist! Especially track 14, or 17, or 21, what the f**k are they?! If the Fabric mix left you asking for something that little bit deeper and nastier you can't sleep on this righteous mix. Theta Eridani (θ Eri, θ Eridani) is a star in the constellation Eridanus. It has the traditional name Acamar from the Arabik Ākhir an-nahr which means "the end of the river“.
Acamar is a double star with some evidence suggesting it is part of a multiple star system
Acamar's distance from Earth as measured by the Hipparcos astrometry satellite is approximately 120 light-years.
Ptolemy described Acamar as a first-magnitude star, which some have taken to be in fact Achernar, which today appears just above the horizon in Alexandria where Ptolemy lived.
Achernar, however, was not visible to Ptolemy (it is from Alexandria today due to procession); its declination in 100CE was -67, making it invisible even at Aswan. Ptolemy's Eridanus thus without doubt ended at Acamar, which rose about 10 degrees above the horizon from Alexandria. This fact besides positively identifying Acamar as the original "end of the river", also strengthens the case for Acamar having been first magnitude in ancient times.

With his last EP offering on Keinemusik, &ME displayed himself once again as supplier of anthems that easily reconcile style with general floor purpose. You would think, such an universal and inexhaustible tune as this very “After Dark” can only be a lucky hit. But no, he’s knocking out the classic material just like that. Another example? Catalog number KM028, his brandnew “Trilogy” EP.
The titletrack on A initially places a synth arpeggio behind a kick that in dryness is hardly to excel. The beat of "Trilogy" is then seasoned with rimshot patterns until the saturated bassdrum comes in and paves the way to the dancefloor. &ME even refines his knack for stoic grooves on this jam and once again shows his sure feeling for suitable vocal features. Sabotas croon comes devoid of big gestures and still knows the ropes to appeal to the collective mentality of a clubcrowd.
On the flipside, “Woods” is living up to its name from the very beginning. Woody percussions are thumping within an almost subtropical scenario that’s frequently pervaded by mighty synth clouds. And once again, there’s an arpeggio sneaking in that at some point is taking the lead in this strictly instrumental affair. Add a break building that will educe a floor’s complete euphoric potential without going for the rather mindless escalation and there you have it: a B-side that’s actually more of an A-competitor.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. I recorded "Schall" back in 1995...I stopped playing it (the original version) a long time ago but last weekend I did play it again and to my amusement and utter disbelieve - it went down in a storm. Nice one. So I thought some of you might like to find it it here...
PS: The vocal is sampled from "Adonis - Acid Pokin'" and I have no idea what it says!
