Hot on the heels of this year’s ‘Dyslexia Sound System’ album, Touch Sensitive is thrilled to share a three-track companion piece from Autumns - 'DSS Dubplate'.

Autumns is the solo project of Derry’s Christian Donaghey. With a relentless release rate that mirrors the energy and intensity of his live shows, Donaghey has submitted a selection of skewed star turns for the likes of iDEAL, Death & Leisure, and Opal Tapes since his debut on Regis' Downwards label in 2014.

Much like it's companion LP, 'DSS Dubplate' is heavily inspired by the On-U Sound label, the productions of Adrian Sherwood, and that cultural and musical sweet spot when the rockers met the post-punk crowd. 

Donaghey’s whip-crack beats, heavily effected vocals, shredded no-wave guitar, and clarinet squalls are shaped and shifted further into the endless expanse by his dubwise techniques on the board. 

As always with Donaghey's productions - these rhythms grip tight and don't let loose until the needle is on the run-out groove.

Granite Mask lands on Urban Legend Records with his new EP 'Before the Storm'. The EP was created through the heavy and dark days of the COVID -19 pandemic. Making this EP became a way of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel during these bleak times, a coping mechanism, a vehicle for creativity and reconnection with the self.
At the core of this work is the idea of focusing on the things we are passionate about and adapting to difficult situations.
The EP consists of 4 highly energetic and edgy tracks with industrial and lo-fi textures, broken rhythms and teasing synth lines. The result illustrates the contrast between the struggle of the external conditions and the internal peace generated by the music and artistic expression.

This is a soundtrack to imaginary nightime streetscapes in a world that resembles our own.

Crumbling asphalt slick with oil and grease reflects the woozy glow of late night bodegas in acrid pink, yellow and green.

Drakkar Noir is a feceless figure who inhabits this world, an alias shamelessly lifted from a sleazy and long out-of-fashion scent, a brand name derived from a mashup of mythical pretensions and hollow advertising jargon. Part Human and part digital fiction, Drakkar Noir is, like the city itself, a shapeshifter who feeds and is fed by the collective dreams and nightmares floating above the buildings and into smoke-filled skies.

Unit 1 draws inspiration not only from the typical EBM/Industrial artists but also a healthy dose of 80s-inspired poptones and features Troy Woodhall’s sonic production prowess, percussive onslaughts and lyrical input combined with Matt Francini’s synth leads, basslines, and vocal melodies all drenched in reverberant psychedelic effects that blend genres and leave sonic stereotypes at the door. Unit 1 takes listeners on a guided tour through the gilded experience of Los Angeles, touching on subjects as varied as questioning one’s relationship, satirizing the existential dilemma of showing up to your 9-5, and recognizing the sometimes-nihilistic existence of the LA experience. Italian dark electronics aficionados Alessandro Adriani and Cosimo Damiano come together for a debut collaborative EP on Pinkman. Belonging to different generations but both deeply influenced on one side by "the Sound of Rome", with pioneers like Gabriele Rizzo, Leo Anibaldi and Lory D, and on the other side by the raw electro Dutch legacy of Bunker Records, the two strike a golden middle of their styles with a clanging, raw and packed to the brim with coarseness electro-techno hybrid.

Inspired by the cyber dystopia narratives, ‘Neurodreamers’ reflect on the hi-tech surveillance and the promise of AI which unfolds itself into the prospect of dehumanisation. Taking the listener through turmoil and anger, the brutish 4-tracker weave the elements of grubby baselines, coarse synths and erratic percussions with the brain-melting hints of acid and Alessandro Adriani’s own recorded vocals. A living warning to us all.
