Hüseyin Evirgen is a composer, producer and DJ. He is one half of Cassegrain and has been working on his own solo material as Magna Pia since 2016. He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg and has composed music for theatre, dance performances, and mixed media for almost two decades. After meeting Alex Tsiridis at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, they formed the techno duo “Cassegrain”.
Since their first release on Mikrowave in 2010, they have worked with a variety of labels such as Warm up, infrastructure NY, Prologue, Killekill, Counterchange and Semantica. In 2016 they formed their own imprint called “Arcing Seas”, which is now home to both collaborative work as Cassegrain, solo projects as well as guest artists. As Magna Pia, Hüseyin Evirgen focuses on providing combative dance floor trips and unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references while he keeps his interest in combining contemporary techno music with archaic symbolism.

We are closing this year with the very last episode of the MindTrip podcast. For this special show Pfirter invites Token's label head Kr!z for an exclusive 100min mix. After 12 years of curating the discography on Token records, last April he finally used his platform to release his debut EP entitled Mantra that came out on vinyl and digital. His musical ethos is clearly stated from the track selection in this mix ranging from Jeff Mills, Jeroen Search, PAS to Dj Nobu, Mike Parker and more. Episode 41 is our last episode of 2019 and we are already looking forward to the new year with many more new guests on the show as well as new releases on the label.

There's nothing quite like a trip down memory lane, especially if it means we get to re-live one of our absolute favourite On the 5th Day gatherings.

Go back in time to July 21st 2018... following a good few months of excited anticipation, we finally welcomed the hugely talented, boundary pushing electronic music virtuoso, ASC (James Clements) to Corsica Studios, and heck was it immense!

The night left a beautiful imprint on our hearts and minds. The love and appreciation in the room for what was ASC's only European gig of that trip was cosmic, and the energy on the dance floor pure magic from the start to finish.

We couldn't help but dig through the archives to retrieve his hybrid set from the night and we've no doubts that settling into it will give you as much happiness as it did us.

Big love and thanks to ASC, and to all of you who were a part of it. Absolutely one for the books!
