Signed to Radio Slave’s Rekids, Enemy Records and Planet Rhythm, the young Brazilian producer has skyrocketed to the forefront of the techno game, earning himself accolades from some of the world techno scene’s big guns including Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, Setaoc Mass, Ben Klock and more with impressive consistency. His trade of choice, i.e. dealing out hypnosis-inducing, sanity-combusting club material of the finest ilk, bursts to further explosive effect throughout the present mix. Covering two hours of blazing 4x4 rapids, rip-roaring telepathic machine talk and other incendiary, alien-engineered wares, Marcal stakes out his territory sheer badman style.

Now at the helm of his own structure, Faut Section, Fautzi keeps on serving up that fiery mix of no-nonsense industrial pound and mental techno ostinatos, ready to subjugate any crowd in its drop zone. Clearly not for the faint of heart, his blends combine the wildness of 909-powered trampling with untamed onslaughts of hypnotic synth furls and heavy-duty, aggro percussions gone rogue. MKO is a DJ and promoter with over a decade of experience in the Polish scene and is a resident at Jasna 1 and a key member of the SLAP crew. He now fully dedicates himself to his club night, Shadows. His sound has resonated in Poland’s most iconic venues and internationally in cult clubs and festivals. In his sets, he moves fluidly through different shades of techno, deep, dub, trippy, and classic Detroit influences, without being confined to a single style.

This mix is a recording from Shadows, where he shared the booth with Kaiser and Chami, handling warm-up duties. It’s a journey from 135 to 140 BPM, packed with tracks he loves playing right now.

Our 18th instalment is here and we invited Kai van Dongen, a Producer, DJ & Vocalist from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Based in London for the past 7 years, Kai has built up a prolific discography across labels like Truncate, Enemy, Second State, Ei8ht, Roses Are Red and his own bandcamp imprint - KVD records.

His productions span across techno, electro, rave and electronica and can be heard at clubs and festivals around the world including spaces like Berghain, Bassiani and Tresor by DJ’s like Luke Slater, Rødhåd, Truncate and Dustin Zahn.

His mixing style has been described as rhythmic, incisive and angular with track selection leaning toward an anything with soul approach. This has seen him play in cities like Amsterdam, Lisbon, Los Angeles & Phoenix as well as release mixes on various podcast series and radio stations like Bassiani, Reclaim Your City, DifferentSound, TOYTOY & Radio Fritz on both digital and vinyl media.

This is the 9th episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions' mixed by Denise Rabe!

Denise Rabe's experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer.
 
Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.
 
This has allowed her to recruit the artist who's work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels.
 
Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12“ in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label's staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published „Manifesto“ in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development.
 
Rabe's particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

EvilGroove is an American-based techno label co-founded by Lindsey Herbert and Jason Doll that has featured artists such as Truncate, Kr!z, Hemka, and Dustin Zahn, as well as supporting simmering underground talent.

Chile's Andrea Riffo is one of the most notable artists from her country's scene, playing many parties and growing her reputation as a must see DJ. Meanwhile, her productions have been landing on labels Joaquin Ruiz's West Rules, Diffuse Reality, Synergie, Xelima, and now she returns to EvilGroove for another VA contribution.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Red Oscillations" with a bubbling groove. The tight stabbing bassline is infectious and fun, surrounded by mesmerising hypnosis and haunting atmospherics, yet is a firm, heady club trip, ready for the dance floor.
