Ho ho ho, the mystery-shrouded Rrose - named after Marcel Duchamp’s eponymous persona, punches in right on cue for Xmas with an absolute monster of a two-hour jaunt into their exquisitely twisted headspace. Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. A true legend and pioneering figure of techno, US sound architect and Geophone label owner Mike Parker breaks in on the RYC waves with a very special set full with his idiosyncratically dark, obsessive, inch-perfectly chiselled 4x4 wares. Before Boiler Room and co. were even a thing, a pioneering platform going by the name of Studio R° used to broadcast techno sets by prominent artists from a secret location in Berlin. This iconic, vinyl-only mix is Parker’s Studio R° set from 2013, now fully remastered for your listening pleasure. Building atmospheres unlike any other, brooding and transcending in equal measure, Parker has laid the foundation to an exceptionally rich body of work. Master of the industrial vocab, peeping towards Detroit but with his defining spin on the early days genre, Parker entices us down the path of steely monumentality and laser-precise mind control. Just as typically mazy, his present mix conjures up all traits of quality Parker material: 909-powered propulsion, enslaving acid whorls, Escher-like fractals. Wild, wild ride ahead.

Kicking off 2025 in the best company as Tokyo-born, Amsterdam-based don Wata Igarashi takes over with a masterclass in pulsating futuristic techno and widescreen sonics. Through a flurry of top-of-the-range releases for the likes of Dekmantel, Kompakt, Figure and his own imprint, WIP, the Japanese producer has been cementing his position as a true innovator of techno music. His unparalleled knack for crafting big-room-ready tunes that engineer a complex cocktail of cutting-edge elegance, modular intuitivity and hi-impact punch has logically made him a much sought-after talent in the scene. Not departing from that polymathic approach, his RYC mix, recorded at the PURE G event at FINAL Taipei on December 7, treats us to a storm of shape-shifting grooves and brutalist fractals of sound. Beware, high voltage.

Fernando Sanz aka @orbeartist has been steadfastly dedicated to the craft of beats and breaks since he was a young sprout of 14 years in the sun baked southern Spanish port city of Algeciras. Under the imprint Orbe Records, Sanz has cultivated his own thriving techno community as artist and label head. Since 2014 Orbe Records has been lashing the block rocking techno of Sanz’s comrades Eduardo De La Calle and Steve Stoll, but mostly of Sanz’s own prolific moniker, Orbe. As DJ and producer Orbe keeps the mood surreal and dreamy while deploying understated drum machine patterns to hammer the platonic solids that keep his beloved community in tact.

Next up in our series, we’re excited to welcome Mary Yuzovskaya, a DJ and producer whose surgical sense of the groove and love for minimal sound structures have become trademarks over the years. At the helm of her own record label, Monday Off, Mary puts in the same precision and effort she dishes out through all of her vinyl-only DJ sets. Stripped-back and highly cerebral, her style sits at the junction of heavily dubbed-out psychedelia, liquid abstraction and post-industrialism, and this mix doesn’t differ. Enter Yuzovskaya’s mazy new vinyl exclusive mix with crumbs of bread in your pocket and some red thread, for we’re yet to know where the labyrinth ends. But does it even have an end?

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to host such an iconic figure from the Dutch Techno scene : SANDRIEN.

Amsterdam’s Sandrien is known for her versatile take on techno. From deep and atmospheric to high-energy breaks and acid; her dynamic track selection has made her a dance floor favourite in her hometown and beyond. With over twenty years in the game, there are hardly any iconic clubs and festivals Sandrien has not played. She has graced the stages of Lowlands Festival, Awakenings, Dekmantel and Draaimolen in The Netherlands, Norway’s Monument, Rainbow Disco Club in Japan and the club booths of Berlin’s Berghain, Bassiani in Tbilisi, Basement NY, Tunnel Pereira and Womb in Tokyo.

In Amsterdam, she used to be a resident of De School and its predecessor Trouw. The latter was home to Sandrien’s own techno club nights ‘Imprint’, through which she hosted a variety of national and international artists including Ben Sims, DVS1, Marcel Dettman, Oscar Mulero, Peter van Hoesen and Rødhåd. In addition, she was one of the founders of the city’s long-running LGBTQIA+ event series IsBurning.

For years, Sandrien spent her weekdays working in Amsterdam’s renowned record stores Rush Hour and Killacutz. This speaks to the imagination of her incredible record collection and musical knowledge. Her extensive library is precisely why she’s a champion of playing longer DJ sets, during which she always manages to build a solid bridge between old-school techno, and adventurous fresh sounds. Sandrien’s experience and ability to adapt to any setting also shows in her love for playing back-to-back with other artists, including DJ Nobu, Ben Sims and Philippa Pacho.

Occasionally, she likes to give the more house-leaning part of her collection a spin; high energy and acidic basslines woven together by the same solid groove her techno sets are known for.
