Up this week, Moscow’s Nastia Reigel hits the series with two hours of hi-traction material primed for foundation-shaking warehouse use. Having contributed a cut to a Token release last year, followed by a much anticipated EP for Non Series a few weeks ago, the Russian jockey and producer testifies of her implacable knack for crafting powerful floor weapons that exceed the imposed frame of functionality to further expand into textural variations and kaleidoscopic patterns. All in on the raw machine talk and racing 4x4 hoodoo, Reigel goes regal.

Over five years on from his first appearance on the label with 'Follow Me' off the 'Dnepr_Vancouver' VA, Ukrainian don Stanislav Tolkachev resurfaces with his debut solo four-tracker for RYC. Not quite swerving from the sonic pathway his name has become synonymous with over the years, ever so alien and transporting, Tolkachev’s latest boasts the very exact qualities that have made his sound stand out from others, earning him a constantly growing crowd of heirs and imitators along the way.

Breaking the trip in, 'Up The Steel Stairway' sets the tone for the EP without further ado. Sniping hails of steadily frantic, arpeggiated synth chords and puncturing kick drums that’ll have you dancing like one rolls with the punches, Tolkachev sails into the eye of the cyclone all guns blazing. Lacking no pounding heft either, 'The Less You Know' slits a way open into your head through a carefully dissonant symbiosis of corrosive synth lines and octave-shifting bass gone astray. On-the-edge techno at its rowdiest, most mentally challenging.

Flip the coin and here comes the deranged, trouble-brewing 'One More To Go'. Cranking the mind-bogglingness a notch further, this one bulldozers its way past all sanity thresholds without blinking. Final number 'The Way To The After' tops it off in more straightforward but equally immersive fashion. Plunging us in a submerged chamber of sorts, where heavily verbed-out synth flexions entangle along tranquilly ascending pads, progressively dissolving in inert pools of FX-charged bleach and slo-dripping dub venom.

We've also decided to spice things up a bit with a very special and limited 'crystal clear' edition, in addition to the regular black wax run, both pressed in 180 gram audiophile quality. These won't be available separately, but spread amongst the main run as some kind of lost easter egg, so keep your eyes peeled!

Brand new EP from the boss showcasing his new perspective and vision about techno along five cuts. Oscar Mulero’s sound it’s always changing and evolving, it can be physical and muscular or deep and sci-fi or both at the same time as this record shows.


On this occasion spanish titles explain the feeling of each track perfectly, Flujo Fatal is the first slice, Fatal Flow in english, a mental and deep voyage into intelligent techno: full of detail but with an energetic pulse below that activates the dance while the mind is traveling in unveiled territories.


Nueva y Oscura Era is the second cut, fast and obsessive, with detailed percussive elements crossing the stereo field while continuous synth lines run over the precise beat. An ideal mix tool for the peak time hours in the dancefloor.


Noches de Menta reminds us of the good old Birmingham days, intense, rugged and fast. Minimal in the components and pristine in the sound processing. Music for those who dance with closed eyes in the shadows and strobe lights.


Dos Esqueletos is the last cut on vinyl, an elastic and liquid piece made of shuffled rhythms almost 90% percussive. Perfect mixing tool for those who know.


On the digital release appears an extra track called Aire Silencioso, sibilant and resonant textures fly on the high part of the sound spectrum while a compact groove keeps the pace for a full physical experience. The extreme frequency treatment will cause waves in people's minds while dancing … immersive and expansive at the same time.

Nuevo EP del jefe que muestra su nueva perspectiva y visión sobre el techno a lo largo de cinco cortes. El sonido de Oscar Mulero siempre está cambiando y evolucionando, puede ser físico y musculoso o profundo y de ciencia ficción o ambos a la vez como muestra este disco.


En esta ocasión los títulos en español explican a la perfección el sentimiento de cada track, Flujo Fatal es la primera rebanada, Fatal Flow en inglés, un viaje mental y profundo al techno inteligente: lleno de detalles pero con un pulso enérgico debajo que activa el baile mientras la mente está viajando en territorios desconocidos..


Nueva y Oscura Era es el segundo corte, rápido y obsesivo, con elementos de percusión detallados que cruzan el campo estéreo mientras líneas continuas de sintetizador acompañan el ritmo preciso. Una herramienta de mezcla ideal para las horas clave en la pista de baile.


Noches de Menta nos recuerda los buenos tiempos de Birmingham, intensos, duros y rápidos. Mínimo en los componentes y prístino en el procesamiento de sonido. Música para los que bailan con los ojos cerrados en las sombras y luces estroboscópicas.


Dos Esqueletos es el último corte en vinilo, una pieza elástica y líquida hecha de ritmos muy trabajados con casi un 90% de percusión. Perfecta para combinar en mezclas largas.


En el lanzamiento digital aparece una pista extra llamada Aire Silencioso, texturas sibilantes y resonantes vuelan en la parte alta del espectro de sonido mientras que un ritmo compacto mantiene el ritmo para una experiencia física completa. El tratamiento extremo de las frecuencias excitará las ondas cerebrales en la mente de los danzantes:  inmersivo y expansivo al mismo tiempo.

Isabel Soto is Venezuelan-Canadian Music Producer / DJ based in Montreal.
She is a resident of DifferentSound and Arder. 

Her sound remains on the hypnotic/deep and groovy sides of Techno. 

In less than two years, she has released music on different VAs, original EPs, and an LP on labels such as DifferentSound, Diffuse Reality, Dorian, Second State, Occultech Recordings, PHTM, and ConcreteTbilisi. As well as a remix on Concepto Hipnotico and another one on Dorian.

Isabel’s music has already been played by well-known artists such as DVS1, Kr!z, Justine Perry, Paula Koski, and Hypnotic Black Magic.

Hitam, a name dedicated to his roots and also the highest possible way to experience music in combination with dance. As a resident of Eerste Communie and a lover of the dance floor, he began his musical journey under the name Optics. Under this alias, he released several EP’s on labels such as Dynamic Reflection and KSR. Just before the summer he decided to change his artist name to Hitam and pursue an image that is closer to him as a person. He has now planned no less than 3 releases for the month of November. You can expect a solo EP on Secession, a collaboration with Temudo on Immaterial Archives and a split EP with Yant on the fast-growing label Platform 22.

All of this brings us to his neat podcast for SALON. He starts by showing a deep and aggressive side of himself with technical highlights, after which he chooses to give the listener a breather with a somewhat warmer, rounder and more organic sound. This versatility says a lot about him as an artist and is the perfect way to kick-off the last series of 2020.
