The Rotterdam-based label and agency On Board Music proudly marks its 10-year anniversary with a carefully curated compilation of likeminded artists. This milestone release showcases those who have shaped the label's sound and identity, while also setting the tone for the years to come. On Board 10 features nine tracks on vinyl, complemented by five exclusive digital bonus tracks.

The collection traverses a diverse spectrum: from the immersive depths of Altinbas' atmospheric journey Submersion to the intricate, rhythmic craftsmanship of Polygonia's drum-workout Broken Temptation, and from GiGi FM's ethereal dub-techno exploration Maova and Dorisburg's percussive, Nordic-techno gem Sensorik. The release blends introspective meditativeness with dancefloor-ready energy - a balance between home listening and club environments. Continuing his exploration of intricate techno systems, their effect and direct perimeter of action, Peter Van Hoesen turns in his newest four-track piece, ‘Prime Directive’: a fascinating dive into the artist’s shape-shifting headspace and inner creative chaos.

Fuelled on a furnace-hot mix of abstract-leaning immersion and hi-octane rhythmic thrust, ‘Prime Directive’ looks at contemporary techno from the angle of experimentation and intuitive abandon. The result comes in the form of four distinct movements, each carving out their own logic and associated behaviour out an endless pool of potentialities. Here comes chaology unfolding in all its unadulterated, visceral glory.

‘Definition by Absence’ breaks the trip in to the sound of a faux-random symphony: its train-like swing and fiery bass seesaw coalesce through an elliptic fluttering of sorts, iterative and not, patterns moving in and out of synchronicity as Van Hoesen applies more or less pressure on both ends. All in gusty in-your-face-ness, ‘Variables Edit 1’ whirls and swirls like an ominous vengeance of nature; Its puncturing kicks and whistling menace set against stellar winds and rabid machinery on the prowl for its next victim.

An even more unsettling piece of disjointedly arrhythmic, anti-club music for the dance floor, ‘Prime Directive’ will have you zoning out like a bad dream, flush with metronome-faced monsters and molten clocks hanging from dead trees. ‘Morphology’ could be PVH’s attempt at giving his concepts a carnal carcass to hold onto. Here, rhythm becomes somewhat less erratic, offering his 360-degree vision more melodic surface and actual room for dispersion. One to keep the boundaries pushed and status-quo challenged, this is techno at its most entrancingly bold and fearless.

*This new monster four-track classic-in-the-making from Peter Van Hoesen comes draped in a fine piece of artwork courtesy of Atact, and pressed in 180g audiophile quality so you get to experience the Belgian master's chiselled sound design in all its glory.

We're back with our #55 Episode of our Schimmer podcast series with Zürich based DJ and producer Jacom.

Born and raised in Southern Italy, Jacom is an emerging techno DJ and producer based in Zurich. In 2006, he fully dedicated himself to electronic music, which quickly brought him behind the decks. When he moved to Zurich in 2012, his career took an exponential upswing.

In 2016, the talented Italian became a member of the renowned label Adroit and has been an integral part of the collective ever since.

In addition to numerous performances in Italy — e.g. Amnesia (Milano), Azimut (Torino), Cosmic Festival (Firenze) — and throughout Switzerland, Jacom has also demonstrated his skills in other European countries. Berlin is also one of his achievements, where he played in well-known venues such as Anomalie, Renate, Else, Æden, or About Blank.

Jacom is characterized by his groovy and hypnotic sets, which is also reflected in his productions. In the summer of 2023, Jacom undertook a completely new project by founding his own label Reverse, to expand and deepen the techno world in all of its shades. The start of Reverse has already been a huge success, thanks to the creation of a various artists compilation — widely supported from all over the globe.
