The initial idea was just to create a video of Kris Bolin's remix of the fantastic "If The Kids Wanna Dance (Let Them Dance)" by Marc Freak. These two guys are geniuses and tbh I still think Kris' remix is the definitive version of the song -- which, of course, didn't stop me from making another remix just to celebrate one of the tracks that makes my top 10 playlist (I'm still capable of listening to it ten times in a row).

I started creating the video in Premiere and, out of pure curiosity, increased the bpm and added techno beats. It all went very well with the footage of young Ukrainians dancing at a rave party. After that, I rushed to ask Marc if I could do another ITKWD remix (lol).

A prolific musician, author, photographer and (as he defines himself) oddity, Marc's influences range from the lo-fi pop of Guided by Voices to the gothic melodrama of Nick Cave, via the glam of Bowie and the rawness of Iggy Pop. Kristopher "Kris" Bolin is a virtuoso at creating polyphonic vocals, so if you want a collab with him, be prepared to receive a pile of audios that form a choir as complex as a baroque cantata (lol). Kris is the lead singer and guitarist of the amazing band The Bawl Slant, one of the most active and respected bands in the Soundcloud community. Their sound ranges from garage rock to grunge and punk rock, always with impeccable quality. As one of the band's fans, I highly recommend checking out their excellent material:

Narcissists is a independent electronic music project from Preston, Lancashire. Established in 2022, and releasing their debut album Opening Move the same year.

Opening Move, combines retro influences with an energetic, modern rock sound, not disimilar from Harry Styles or The Strokes. 

Opening Move saw some exposure upon release on Wythenshawe FM Radio, The Amos Madra Show and Amazing Radio Afternoons.

In November 2022, performing live atop an art gallery in Manchester, Narcissists made their live debut at the ABC Building, playing on the roof of the gallery in the glass amphitheatre as part of an event organised by House of Art and Heads Magazine.

Narcissists were also interviewed and featured in an article published by Blossom Magazine, an organisation also based in Manchester.

In December 2022, Narcissists performed at The Ferret, a legendary live music venue in Preston, Lancashire. Supporting popular rock band Sugarstone in a bid to save struggling venues affected by the pandemic.

In 2023, Narcissists released King's Gambit, their second studio album. The album featured a post-modern, electronically woven sound. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of electronic styles.

Dark Skies was used as the official soundtrack to popular Internet soap opera "Skew Bridge," crafted by the team from award winning playwriter Jim Cartwright.
