Germano Ventura and Giovanni Verrina's Howl Records welcomes countryman Noha for a vital new two tracker. Across both cuts, he serves up fresh and inventive sounds that straddle the border between house and techno, and come after plenty of essential releases on labels like Constant Black, panickpanick, and Tied. 

Scale is up first, with big, bouncy drums and taught techno synths. It's textured and robust and sure to get any dance floor pumping thanks to its full flavour grooves and well crafted stabs. Add in some ghoulish effects and mood-building breakdowns and you have a real winner. Mud then zones you out with its balmy pads stretching off over the horizon. The pinging drums are right but rubbery, with a weird world of sound effects and delicate detail adding extra bite. 

These are two forward facing tracks that operate in a world of their own.

The United States Government send men in black to dispatch ominous arcade games across the city.

The game, known as Polybius, is designed to test the ability to control the youth using psychoactivity.

Hooked on the mind-altering thrills of the analogue masterpiece, tripping teens cue for hours to get their fix of the game, until the government hides Polybius from the public and lets it fade to obscurity. With some suggesting it was nothing more than a Conspiracy all along.

Fast forward to the present day and a ragtag group of legends stumble on the truth.

Polybius never disappeared, it simply changed forms. Forget arcade games, the government realised there were far easier ways to target youth who are already psychoactive. enter dance music.

Honestly, who'd have thought?

To fight back against the mind-controlling men in black lurking through the annals of house and techno, the Conspiracy crew enlist their finest, and a few friends, to fight fire with straight fire.

 One of the most vital figures in contemporary house music for more than a decade now, Prime Numbers founder Trus’me makes his debut on Groovement with the ‘No Harm’ EP, featuring two new tracks that make good on his heritage.

‘No Harm’ is a bubbling, seductive roller that reveals itself slowly and surely as a punchy number, squarely aimed at sophisticated dancefloors, an ecstatic choir rising from beneath it’s interlocking rhythms. Meanwhile, ‘Someone New’ starts deep and burrows only further, making sensual and psychedelic use of trippy effects and a powerful, throbbing bassline to create maximum pressure.

Midwestern legend Delano Smith contributes a similarly confident, winningly understated remix of ‘No Harm’, one that takes the original track in an equally heady, techno-tinted direction, peppered with timeless Detroit touches.

With his love for music tracing way back to an early age by dabbling with various instruments and then moving on to develop a passion for record collecting, Trus’me found his calling after learning the art of mixing and sample digging. Surrounded by the heads of Manchester and its deep rooted music scene, one couldn’t deny that it was an effortless task to be exposed to good music from all genres, thus explaining his constantly evolving tastes as evident in his eclectic DJ sets as well as in his uniquely, diverse productions. “Like bookends some 12’s will work with both the beginning and the end of the night, such is the classy sampling from Trus’me” (Peter Nicholson, XLR8R). 

The much reputed CD sampler “Nards” that was responsible for initialing releases on Chicago’s Still Music label, inevitably sparked off Trus’me’s promising musical career. Seeing support from respected names such as Ashley Beedle, Juan Atkins, Mad Matts, Gilles Peterson and Chez Damier plus his productions selling out at record stores from Manchester to Tokyo, led to the highly successful release of his debut album, “Working Nights”, on Fat City Recordings, that’s hailed by most to be a timeless album, still finding devotees to this day. 

Not one to rest on his laurels, the label Prime Numbers was set up and quickly gained an unfaltering reputation for highly collectable and exceptional music from artistes such as Move D, Actress, Linkwood, Fudge Fingas, Motorcity Drum Ensemble; all artistes that fit the ethos and style that Trus’me continues to carry a torch for. In 2009, his highly anticipated follow-up album, “In The Red” that featured the likes of Chez, Damier, Amp Fiddler and Dam Funk further cemented his place in the House scene and set off a flurry remixes for acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Alton Miller, Anthony Shake Shakir and more, including non-stop touring to clubs and festivals alike in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, North America, South America and of course, in his backyard, the city of Manchester where it all began.
