Chicago-based label Tied is back with a new vinyl only release, and it features the return of Venezuelan artist Matheiu.

Ran and curated by DJ and producer Max Jacobson, Tied Records is both a digital and vinyl label. They've already featured some of the best such as Archie Hamilton, Topper and Martinez to name a few, and always curate the finest of the Western scene. They recently celebrated their 9th birthday, inviting down to the US Cesar Merveille to headline the party. On our seventh release, Man/ipulate encapsulates Watatsumi’s spirit, the legendary water dragon. Known as the ruler of the seas and god of the oceans, he would control storms and rainfalls, protect its waters and transform into animals and human forms making him one of the most influential creatures in Japanese mythology.

Our sensei Man/ipulate starts with ‘Dimension’ a perfect gem filled with swinging rhythms, followed by ‘1st Date’, which is definitely to look forward to. On the flip-side comes ‘Watatsumi’, an absolute charm as if it were controlling the sea’s movement from calm to storm. To end things in beauty, ‘Make It Sweat’ literally speaks for itself, a powerful punchy track delivering the dragon’s message from his underwater palace.

Incoming…! 2019 ends with a bang as we unveil the second release from tINI’s Part Of The Gang record label. An extension of her tINI And The Gang parties, which were conceived in Ibiza, the label will act as a home for music from tINI’s close circle of friends and collaborators.

On this second release we have one of the Gang’s long standing members, Bodeler. The eclectic Argetinian has been spinning at tINI’s parties for a while now, so it makes sense to have him on board. Across three track he demonstrates his penchant for nuanced dancefloor weaponry, making this a must-have EP. Ricardo Villalobos has been supporting ‘Ridrum’ in his sets, so you know this is a special one…

Kicking things off it’s ‘Ridrum’, a pumping cut driven by organic-sounding percussion spliced with crisp 4x4 drum programming. The bass is hypnotic, pulsating in tandem with the beats to create a scintillating track - when the vocal calls out “Radio”, the dancefloor goes crazy.

On ‘Bom Gates’ Bodeler incorporates a repeated vocal clip to cultivate a mesmerising atmosphere. After a short breakdown, another vocal sample joins the fray alongside a deadly b-line and sharp, sturdy claps.

Lastly, ‘Klepex’ gives us a heady ride into unexplored terrains. The low end groans with a low slung groove, while gentle pads add a touch of mystique. It’s a masterful combination of contrasting layers, closing the EP in style.
