The End is The Case

Vinyl only. Lisbon-based record shop Carpet & Snares' second release comes from owner Jorge Caiado. Optimistic strings and sweetly melancholic keys bring a touch of wistfulness to both 'AP135' and 'Choices': the former matches skippy Detroit hats with deep Berlin bass in the manner of Derek Carr, while the latter draws from a rawer palette more reminiscent of 3 Chairs. On the flip, 'Tarradas' takes us into spacier territory, the almost-broken beat contrasted with a sustained background wash of synths and acid highlights, which S. Moreira of the Slow Life crew turns into the main motif of his driving, funked-up remix, finding a place where techno, breaks and house influences coalesce into a new, exciting whole.

Premiere : Mihai Pol - Invasion (Triptil remix)(OTK003)

Audionik is a well-known name in the Latin America music scene. After ten years of promoting music they firmly believe in, the Audionik team is taking the next step by launching a vinyl-only label of the same name.

The first release, titled Voodoo Dub, comes from Romanian artist Duphone and features remixes from Egal 3 and Jack Wickham.

Trommel has the premiere of the 'Reconstruction edit' by Egal 3 aka Vid. The talented Romanian keeps the mystical feel of the original, with dark undertones alongside snappy percussion. With early support from Raresh and tINI, this is a track you'll no doubt be hearing under the roofs of the tents at Sunwaves in the near future.
