Inheriting that ‘wonky’ sound which has come to define east midlands club music over the last decade where Kate was raised and what resonates the dynamic bleeps and grooving, glitchy rhythms which occupy the foci of her diverse yet definitive record bag. Kate has seen an exponential rise over recent years via sets at festivals and venues both at home and afar such as Wigflex, The Lion & Lamb, Corsica Studios and securing regular slots with her own party at Tola and Brilliant Corners, then guesting on radio shows such as NTS and Berlin's HÖR. Now working on her own productions and relocating to Europe this winter for more music endeavours whilst remaining active in London.

Part of Uruguay's burgeoning Phonoteque family, Stonem is as uncompromising in his sound as he is in his DJ sets. Square wave basslines, raged synths and room filling drums all feed into his sound palette. Out of the blocks with a bang his first forays into the world of production found their home on Phonoteque, that was back in 2019 and he has been a firm fixture with them since.

The man from Montevideo makes it his goal to seek out the gnarliest sounds and jaw clenching breakbeats. All packaged up in a tightly woven journey that has now dipped into the stratosphere of our InSession series. From more downtempo beginnings Stonem quickly finds his pace and tone and the rest is for you to explore. Zap filled, electro goodies are to be found at the corner of every mix and it is little wonder why he is so prized amongst a label full of legends.

Re-uploaded here as part of my archive collection while I gear up for new material.

Vivus Records returns with another hot pressing in the VRV vinyl-only series, this time with a strong release signed by Direkt, a young emerging talent from the Romanian underground scene.

The journey starts on a relaxed note but steadily reveals more and more patterns and melodies. The synth notes merge with deep background pads while the percussion flows with balance, providing a dreamy yet dynamic atmosphere.
