Mihai didn’t waste no time in the studio last year, it is appreciable to the ear that all of his productions used in this set went through the stringent internal quality control procedure that characterizes his music. After tuning in, the user will comprehend why many describe "a late summer breeze, hard to label and imposible to forget” when talking about Mihai Pol’s sound.

The Brasovian is a fresh and rising talent in the Romanian scene which had a promising programming IT Career before he decided to drop it off and follow his true inner calling as a DJ/Producer. As a DJ, Mihai has been nestled amongst amazing artists in a thrilling list of festivals and club appearances around the world. 

His style (both in his creations and in his sets) has positioned him as one of the most relevant and influential artists in the underground scene today. Mihai's productions can be found on Subtil, Telum, Otaku and Lokomotiv (to mention just a few) and are constantly supported by top selectors in this game.

The Romanian DJ and producer is one of the most prolific in the minimal underground panorama, with an array of releases - mostly on vinyl - on labels such as Pressure Traxx, Purple Print, RE.FACE LTD, and Winder among many others. In his productions, as well as his DJ sets, he blends the modern minimal and microhouse vibes from his country with more housy flavours, and this extract from his Gradina Monteoru's set alongside fellow Romanians Sepp & Nu Zau is the perfect wrap of his charming groovy style. Hoje completando o ciclo de 2022 no Podcast, queremos agradecer imensamente todos que ouviram, compartilharam e deram um pouco de amor, para tudo o que fizemos ao longo desses últimos 8 meses, tem sido incrível ler todas as mensagens, ver todo o carinho, e ter a certeza do quanto a música pode reverberar. We're back! Today we're ending the 2022 cycle of our Podcast series. we want to say thank you to everyone who listened, shared and gave it a little love, for everything you've done over these last 8 months, it's been amazing to read all the messages, see all the affection, and be sure how much the music can reverberate. We have a very special guest for the last podcast of the year, a gift for all of you, he gave us the honor to participate here. A guy with a pure heart who left a deep impression on us during his last visit to Brazil, more specifically in the Raww Room booth at Surreal.

Born in Bucharest, in the cultural epicenter of his country, he draws inspiration from nature to make music, so it's only fair that he's here with us. A Jazz and Hip-Hop lover  he´s one of the top producers and DJs to come out of Romania in recent years. In addition to pulling all this movement that characterizes the sound of his country, he managed to distinguish himself in a more original and sophisticated characteristic for his work, with organic atmospheres to more experimental arrangements.

In the endless sea of producers and selectors, only a few leave a lasting impression. They are the niche artists, individuals that push sonic boundaries into new territory with skill, and purpose. Over the last 5 years Silat Beksi has made quite the impression on minimal music lovers across the globe by doing just that. Utilising his own unique combination of rhythms & special imprinted textures to craft emotive and energetically charged pieces of music. This was recognized early on with labels like Romaniaís Tzinah Records, Moscowís Body Parts and Ukranian imprint Mulen Records offering him a platform through which to release and refine his musical style. In 2014 this culminated in the release of Silat's first full length album, with ten wondrously diverse minimalist cuts seeing a digital release on Mulen. Having achieved this milestone, the talented producer dedicated himself to the perfection of his craft with a renewed determination, going vinyl only and launching his own imprint Modeight Records in 2016. Itís a label family that boasts some of the hottest new talent in minimal house and techno, giving rise to producers such as Germanyís Durrrred & Romanian young guns Dragutesku and RQZ. Their intuitive and forward thinking approach to minimalist music is creating sonic ripples throughout the global underground scene, challenging the existing boundaries of the genre once again.  

Fast forward to the present and Silat Beksi has amassed an enviable body of 12î releases on his journey so far. Cementing himself as one of the most inform talents in Europes underground scene with releases on labels like Germanyís almighty Pleasure Zone, Welsh imprint Dreams Are Not Inside, What You Want, Vivus Records and of course his own imprint Modeight. His sound continues to morph and develop, defying classification with it's heady combination of technoís rhythmic sensibility, breakbeat influence and warm atmospheric textures that hypnotise and excite.
