"The track came together during the last club season on my train ride to Hamburg. I was trying to create a specific acid club sound, combining a heavy-hitting kick with a powerful, rolling bassline. At first, it was just a simple, clean acid tune. After I got home, I added the trance top synth and the insanely powerful vocal. So you can definitely say it’s club-tested and dance-floor-approved. Spanish galacticos FreedomB & Piem deliver three slices of heavy hitting dance floor grooves in their Dub Feelings EP release on new Violence Records. 

The guys have previously racked up releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, Lapsus, Glasgow Underground, Elrow & Roush gaining support from the likes Roger Sanchez, De La Swing, Pete Tong, Pirupa, Seth Troxler amongst others. Now they make their debut on New Violence Records.

Dub Feelings starts things off blending a slamming kick with classic house stabs and a lovely male vocal. Wake Up sees things stripped back to a heavy drum workout with swirling tripped out vocals and FX. FreedomB goes solo for the final track Never Again. taking down the temp and building a cool, laid back groove with layered percussion and old skool organ stabs.

For our next release we welcome our brother Jozef Conor to the label with his monumental 'Scary Kids Scaring Kids' EP featuring remixes from Holmes John, Retza and Bongani.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids introduces the low-slung ’rough house’ groove that Jozef has been working very hard to establish as quite a signature style and direction within his own music - as well as the hook “Walk away from there okay”, a sample that has become a staple of his sets over the last 12 months… now it all makes sense! 

Jozef then flips the title track for ‘Black Apple’, an alternate interpretation and second original to accompany his release. Here he still maintains various elements of the ’Scary Kids’ nature but with a more colourful and energetic twist. 

The first remix is courtesy of the legend, advocate and R18+ tech house enthusiast Holmes John. Rich in vibrance and movement, the rolling bass picks up the pace of the track and injects straight onto the dance floor of the main stage.

Retza then strips the original back with a deep and dubby rendition, complemented by delicate percussions and soaring pads that feed the atmosphere, illustrating a much more dreamy feel to the remix.

The last (but not least) flip of the track is an insanely polite yet driving progressive techno remix by our brother Bongani. Here he is really showcasing where he is at with his production by delivering this timeless masterpiece driven by the weight of the kick and carried by the accentuated, intertwining melodies.

‘Scary Kids Scaring Kids’ is also accompanied by an acapella to of which can be used as a DJ tool or for creation of own remixes and interpretations.
