Three long years after it last graced our ears, the Parallel Series is back with a new pair of well-established producers. This fifth edition sees Sev Dah and Jeff Rushin take on a side each; the result being four expertly crafted pieces of techno aimed straight for early mornings on darker dance floors.

Sev Dah doesn’t mess about, opening the A side with Svarog, a fierce workout with rough rolling percussion and a pleasingly off kilter melodic line. We’re then taken deeper with Morana, a winding adventure with the mood of those early Detroit tracks but with the production values of today, and an evolving, transcendental melody sure to take dancers to another place.

Jeff Rushin begins the AA with what has to be the most disorienting track on the release. A distant kick drum disassociates you from the rising intensity of a ringing synth line, before the two gradually fall together with added percussion to bring your head back into the right space. The release ends with Obsolete, a track that quickly disregards its name by filling the audio spectrum with layers of dissonant panning and shuffling hats. This one was clearly produced to bring clubbers to attention and throw a curveball at sets of otherwise traditional techno.

Conrad Van Orton debuts on Attic Music for the 15th installment of label. 'Hypersomnia' is a collection of haunting techno tracks that sit on the darker side of the genre's spectrum without loosing it's dance floor appeal. 
The 4 track spanning record opens up with the title track ''Hypersomnia'' though techno sounds that revolve around a train-like whistle that repeats throughout the track's poignantbuild. ''Green Eyes'' is an intrusive piece of work that closes down the A-side with it's intense synth works.
On the B side we find ''Iteration''. This growling piece of music has an almost live sounding quality to it. ''Ending Point'' is the toughest piece of work of the record which revolves around a fierce bass sound and a potent drum work.

Having moved to Berlin, this is kind of the Beginning of Anew for me. Inspired by the tracks that have been guiding me since I arrived, I put together this melodic, melancholic mix with some summer vibes here and there. A Prison Of Predictions is the first LP from the Ownlife label and also by the person behind it. Leiras.
On it, the producer showcases a compendium featuring the characteristic sound of the platform, pushing ahead cyclical techno together with tracks that evoke the persistence of remembrance. Echoing the preterit sound of Sandwell District and renewed sound formulas from almost two decades of UK electronica. Ambient brush strokes outline soundscapes surrounded by analogue sounds that share space with more direct and snappy songs. A scape on the frenetic side of electronica with an IDM-leaning end closes the equation.

Substantiating his versatility as a producer with the label’s previous 10 titles and undoubtedly confirmed on this record, Leiras offers a consequent closing for the first stage of Ownlife, which finishes on this point in order to look for new sound structures for the next transmissions.

This LP has been created in Berlin during the last months using mixed recording techniques with the purpose of conceiving a narrative thread that gives coherence to the release; without doubt an inflection point in Leiras’ discography.

Petrichor drops the second single taken from upcoming LP Narisshu with the deep and unique blöta. Soaked in his signature sound, this latest single has everything from Petrichor's sonic arsenal on display as remixed versions of album tracks sit beside some brand new material. 

The dreamy vibe of blöta glides in as a perfect opener for the EP; a definite standout from the forthcoming LP. The Sedant remix of After Velvet, which has gone down a storm in recent live set performances, has an almost Deepchord quality to it with its electro acoustic soundscapes driving this deep rooted track. Harking once again to Detroit, XT3 takes us on an off world Electro journey as big pads and strong melodic content bring the emotion to this closing track.
