Feeling the reassurance of his ancestor memories and technologies unfurled throughout his mind and body, his senses heightened, his movements swift and precise – he journeyed into the heart of the mountains, to the portal through which the great darkness had spilled. The bunker of those who had opened the doorway lay ahead of him, reaching out of the stone with towering menace.. powerful distortional energy still spilling up through the gaping entrance and reaching up into the bleak skies above and seeming to sap the very life from the surrounding reality. The microcomponents under the surface of his skin came to life, reacting to the immediate threat that reached through the air towards him – the field was quickly cast around him, repelling the cold and deathly dimensional tears that sought to eviscerate his body and rip him from this existence. Rob Clouth's Clockwork Atom EP, the eleventh release from Berlin-based record label, Berghain residency, and nomadic party-starters Leisure System, is a triumph of emotional composition and twisted beats. Recalling Jon Hopkins at his fiercest and Autechre at their most melodic, Clouth has put together something special for peak-time and morning-afters alike, three timeless tracks with bass to massage your ears and melodies to warm your heart.

The Barcelona-based glitch expert Rob Clouth has released music under both his given name and the alias Vaetxh on labels such as Traum Schallplatten, King Deluxe, and Detroit Underground. In addition to Clouth's music work, he's also a relentless tinkerer and audio architect, designing multiple pieces of experimental software and hardware, including recent work with digitally painting waveforms. This release on Leisure System arose from a desire to better integrate his two distinct recording aliases in one project, emphasizing the dancefloor-focused elements without abandoning past experimentation.

Electronic music producer and DJ Greg Sanders AKA Distance returns with his third long player ‘Dynamis’, set for release through Tectonic Recordings on 21st October. 

Alongside recording ‘Dynamis’ over the past four years, Distance has been writing and producing for other artists including Riz MC, Jeb Loy Nichols and Jon More of Coldcut. Working with these artists helped open his mind to other styles of music and led to him veering away from his 140bpm roots. The productions of A$AP Ferg, Drake, Schoolboy Q and earlier Arca and FKA Twigs were a big influence, alongside the soundtracks of Hans Zimmer and Cliff Martinez. 

“I get inspiration from everywhere and deliberately try to ignore what is happening in the scene I'm most involved in. ‘Dynamis’ is influenced a lot by film scores, I have geeked out massively to create great dynamics in all of the tracks, sounds are heavily automated and processed to really give the music life.”

"....And here, finally, our protagonist finds the way to release all her inner struggles. After a long and epic struggle, it all has to come out. I like to think of the two kickdrums as the princess punching her negative energy out, and the crazy winding synths that follow the punches are the energy flowing out. This is the only scene in which I thought composing with orchestral sounds was appropriate, I kept that box of tricks all the way until the very end!

This album is an adaptation of the score I wrote for Sleeping Beauty Dreams, a high-tech audiovisual dance performance starring Diana Vishneva and was originally composed for a 32 channel surround sound system.” – Thys

"After a long period of remixing, collaborating and releasing singles on various labels, I've compiled a collection of tracks that represent a time period which started from losing two close family members for cancer. That threw me off of making music too systemically for a while and I was just creating whatever felt right at the time. These tracks have been with me for a good while, I've toured with this material, different iterations might have been heard here and there; and some have been released as singles. They haven't at the time necessarily been created specifically for this release, but all of them represent a specific period of my life, hence why they belong together. I feel that now it's time, as the title implies, let them go and move forward.

I'm humbled to have some of my favorite artists like Hecq, Sieren and Pixelord among others to contribute on the 2nd part of the album."
