When I discovered some of the samples I used for this album, I was like a kid on Christmas morning, opening one present at a time with a big smile on my face. They were so different from the style of music I had been producing, but the anticipation and excitement were like arriving at the happiest of happy places. I had known disco to cleverly take a difficult subject and turn it into a happy song, allowing one to dance off any troubles. I had arrived. I found my groove. These songs put some pep back into my step after going through some really challenging times. It was my way of coping with hardships and maintaining some happiness.

The name itself RETROfit, means adjusting my expectations of what I thought my life was going to be. It is also a play on words because the Retro Vibe suits me so well! Makes me feel like a superstar, walking on the red carpet in the fields behind my home. Being raised by parents who recycle almost anything, MacGyver’s daughter, becoming a Mrs. Fix it, means that I’ve always fixed or tailored things to fit. Now part of the challenge sometimes is not only to fix what’s on the outside, but what lives on the inside.

I also love that Disco music stood for acceptance of everyone, regardless of color, gender, sexual orientation etc.. I’m all about that, Dreams, Peace, Love & Light!! Hippies were onto something, not just ON something lol.. It's time to raise the universal consciousness and elevate everyone’s existence on this planet, reducing unnecessary suffering, embracing man,woman and 2SLGBTQIA+. ✌️🕊️☮️🥰💓🌍💃🕺🪩
