I Hate Models - Daydream

Even though @b-belgium-official (aka @goosemusic’s drummer) was not a raver during the golden age of Bonzai, he still managed to rework this Bonzai classic into a filthy slow-burning techno track, tailor-made for concrete warehouses with stroboscopes and smoke machines. The staccato riffs remain largely intact and create a subtle, moody atmosphere, as opposed to the absolutely bonkers original with a BPM going through the roof. B has managed to keep the Bonzai soul, while infusing his trademark experience in stomping electro music.

After participating in the 2015 Red Bull Music Academy in Paris, the world got to know Roman @hielehiele and his exceptionally deep love for experimentation in sound and music. Leaving no trace of the uplifting euphoria of the original track, Hiele prefers to strip the anthem down to its core elements. The result is a spacious, synth-driven, melancholic piece of art that works well with rainy days or the comedown after a proper rave. This man always manages to surprise his fans with his creative productions and this fantastic rework is no different.

As one of the faces of the new generation of techno DJs, @charlottedewittemusic is the ideal candidate for a remix in this project. Her hands-on approach to production and, in this case, reworking 4x4 music, lead to countless dancefloor destroyers – and this rework is no exception. Pitching down the initial 160 BPM to 130 BPM and giving the key elements of the original production in a leading role, de Witte delivers a heart-warming track that combines the best of both past and present. This one is ready to be blasted on a heavy soundsystem at the end of a rave.

Having been through a Bonzai phase in their teenager years, the nostalgia can be heard from the moment you press play. The band translated the uplifting rave structure of these two tunes into a single, solid cross-over mash-up. Great stuff!
