'Outside the Ride' builds on @okzharp's last EP for @hyperdub - a new 7-track record landing back on the label this August. Born out of a 127 bpm Gqom-influenced soundtrack created for a short film, 'Outside the Ride' sees Okzharp moving forward with a new amalgam of speedy music that explores a chimera of South African Gqom, turn-of-the-century techstep and footwork.

On 'Incline Disconnect', acidic leads slither against tense, trance-inducing synth swirls. Frayed, off-kilter drums and fierce 808 accents interlock in an unlikely, seductive soundsystem killer.

This particular composition is a direct speak to myself and people that have had to deal with discontentment confusion, anxieties depression, all these different emotions that can be debilitating to a person that is unguided a person that has no direction a person that has no values or a person that has a moral compass that is so spun off of its line that they have no direction how to get back to this song is dedicated to you.  to all those that have felt it the lack of value. All those that have been pushed away and thrown away or discarded are used. This song is dedicated to you.. this song is to give you that internal energy and strength to put yourself back up on your feet and allow you to continue walking the path that you choose with your choice not answering to anybody else. This song was my way of being self liberating to be able to release myself from everything outside of me to finally look at the gross insignificant that I have cultivated in myself, excavated from myself and clean the house, and then again, turn around and look back at what I left behind and find this beautiful shimmering example of the person I want to become even more every single day that I wake up and open my eyes and take a breath. The song is dedicated to you that are in that same path that a walk in that same line that are driving down the same roads I hope you find your peace your contentment, your happiness, your inner pleasure, and if this song allowed you to be able to get pointed on that and didn’t know it in the prior. I’m proud to have been that person to giving you that. May you always be at peace with yourself regardless if anybody else is for you, I give you nothing but peace of mind and happiness,
