red.funk.alivio is a collab between artists who understand everything is political. @TrapFunkAlivio (Bahia, Brazil) found reddaughter (Brooklyn, NY) on soundcloud a couple years ago and finally were able to birth a project together. The mix represents the artists' passion for global sounds, heavy hitting rap flows, & most importantly, radically political undertones. Infusing traditional with modern sounds--our music, our sound, and our creativity is a direct stance to resist colonization and attempted erasure of indigenous cultures. This mix is centered around 14 tracks from @TrapFunkAlivio, with many friends of reddaughter, both well known artists in NYC, local or indigenous musicians.

this mix is the result of one of the most natural and organic friendships between @reddaughter and @trapfunkalivio who created red.funk.alivio (pt 1). the crew of @trapfunkalivio brought @reddaughter to Salvador, Bahia Brazil. It is an instant connection.  The people, food and sounds were something that can not be understood unless you see for yourself. this mix combines the current trend of Bahia / Brazil with footworke and other 150 sounds. this mixture is powerful - and political, dark, beautiful, hype ..
