One of my recent songs.  Inspired by one of my favorite bands of similar name.  Needs some vocals!

Godzilla

This is a quick test of recording some drums in a stair well at my university.  Very small set up of kit and mics.  I used a Yamaha kick and floor tom, gretsch catalina maple, and zildjian ride and hat.

I used a RE20 on the kick, SM57 on snare.  A Manley Reference Cardiod directly overhead, an Voodoo VR1 ribbon in between 1st and 2nd floor in the well, an AKG C414 on the 2nd floor and a Dave Pearlman Tube Mic on the 3rd, although this mix is not including he VR1 or C414.

I did gate the 3rd floor mic, and it only triggers on some of the snare hits because I'm not a drummer so my playing is not consistent.

This is a composition I wrote for a final project in a Music Theory class at Michigan Tech.

Regret

This is a song I composed for a theatre production at Michigan Technological University.  It was called Fires in the Mirror.  This is a shortened version of the song that played through an entire scene, but was also acting as space filling ambience.  It was originally composed and mixed for a 7.1 surround system and played in a theatre space with many more than 7 speakers, so this is a stereo version of that song.
