TRIATHLON DEMO

This one is from January 2011 around the same time as a few of the EP songs. it's not exactly finished, the lyric is rough, but I still enjoy what it is and eventually this song lead to other tunes on the EP and on Shields that I'm happy with. It's a wintery New York song to me, it reminds me of home. And at this particular moment I miss home, and I feel like I should be there after all that's happened recently. So there it is.

fox and rabbit traveled through 
darkest parts of the forest to 
search for an infinite flame
they spoke all night until their eyes
refused to fight 
shared their warmth curled together
sleeping so tight 
seasons began to change 
winter was on its way 
winter is the most deadliest predator 
while the fox the cunning 
the rabbit is quick 
the fox follies after jewels 
the rabbit seeks twigs to build their shelter 
he knows its wise to choose 
the don't agree on how to survive 
rabbit sees greed in foxes eyes 
rabbit knows the suns warmth is all they need 
the fox can't stop leaving in search for something brighter 
rabbit sees foxes malady and that they will have to leave each other 
rabbit left a token of his esteem 
the gold melted down 
from a thrifted ring 
is now a singular band on foxes horizon 
the rabbit has gone on his way 
to search for the infinite flame
