Me and KJ have made art together for over 10 years, this is the first time we made a musical project together. I just let him rip on the piano, and then built a song around what i recorded. We went for a really dark and somber mood for this one!

Just A little jam I did over Steve Browns drums I cut up. Kick drums are hard to mic. 
Lots of layers of guitars in here through my Marshall, and bass through my Darkglass preamp pedal. Added in some trippy side-chained synth stuff for good measure.

Just One More Lizard

I tried to make a as grimey ass Kick drum/808. And I gave it the Ole Dave Mon charm and cooked up this lil mashed potato and bangerz for your listening pleasure. 

I used the Tr8 plugged into a comp pedal and distortion pedal, with a noise suppressor and gate into my marshal amp high gain setting. This 808 kick  fuken slaps buuuud.

DIRT H0P

Some moments recorded with friends hangin out, Talksic always raps too much. And some techno I made at work, as well as some sounds from the factory. Everything was recorded into a portable tape machine i got that I carry around with me, I recorded times with friends as well as times  at work. And I recorded the techno while on downtime at work with a stripped down set of gear, Roland Tr8, and Arturia Microfreak, as well as boss delay pedal.

I tried to break the composition up as much as possible, definitely an experiment with these mix tapes that I will keep coming back too, and evolving the process.

Work Mixtape #1

Recorded a hangout jam session between me and Dave #2 on my tape recorder. And then I edited it together with a beat I made that we jamed ontop of.  I played my old 1920s piano, used the roland Tr8 for drums, and my darkglass preamp for my bass guitar. Dave  played his melodica, and we tried to record his banjo but it didnt work out so well, but i took at leasat one part of it. I also recorded our conversations on tape which I sampled.

 We've been friends a real long time. I appreciate you

I Started with a Drum Loop from my friend Justin M that was stopping by. I recorded his sesh and then chopped it up quick before  my longtime friend Nathan Smith came by and jammed some awesome bass guitar on the track. And then I finished the song up with my guitars, vintage 1920s piano, and a bunch of other elements. As well as a sample of some gangster from Instagram I chopped up.

Yolks Of Oppression

This is what happens when you tape the aftermath party of your friends trashing a car in a blizzard on Christmas eve on the way to your house.

You tape the conversations for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY, Throw a beat on there, use the wah-wah pedal on your beat for some hippidy-do, then play some twangy guitars to compliment how cute the beat looks. Then add some spice by chopping up a bunch of random sounds from the factory I work at, some synthy wub wubs, and a couple other lil tidbits I had sittin around on the tape machine.
And there you have it! An impromptu recipe for a full course meal made from scratch!

I use Ableton Live to produce everything.
And all the music is recorded in my home studio by me, with the odd musical guest that's thinking of joining the cult.
