These are not my words.
They belong to my brother Jim.

In his own way, through his own voice, he wanted to leave something behind for Cathy — the woman who stood by him through every hardship, every illness, every storm. Cathy, his wife, his best friend, his hero.

Jim spoke of the good times before he was sick, of how loyal and devoted she has always been. He told me how, before she leaves work each night to come home, Cathy always calls him first — just to see if he needs anything. That’s who she is: thoughtful in the small things, steadfast in the big things.

He remembered the old Camry that still takes her to work, the simple meals, and the way she appreciates what little they have together. In all of it, he sees love beyond measure.

Our mother once called her “Saint Cathy.” Jim carried that truth forward, believing no title could fit her better.

He worried about the burdens he might leave behind — the condo, the debts, the things unfinished. But more than anything, he wanted Cathy to remember the man he was when their love first grew, and to know that his love for her was — and is — beyond love.

This song is Jim’s message, set to melody. A voice that says: “Don’t remember the struggle, remember the love. Carry me with you, in the brighter days, under the stars above.”
