Artist Info:
Polish born DJ, producer and label owner VONDA7 based between Berlin and Valencia, has been recognised for channelling various musical influences into her outstanding music productions and DJ sets. An astute ear for emotive melody, a firm grip on drum programming and an experimental approach to vocals became her trademark skills gaining interest from the very top DJs and radio presenters including DJ Sasha, Above & Beyond, John Digweed, Anja Schneider, Pete Tong, Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier among many others. Her music has been featured on media outlets such as Mixmag, Billboard, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats, Ibiza Voice or Ibiza Spotlight to name a few. She released her music on labels such as Anjunadeep, Last Night on Earth, Lost & Found or Einmusika. 2018 saw her take things up another notch with the introduction of her own label - art | werk - a space where she introduced her full artistic vision showcasing her unique blend of styles, drifting between melodic house and techno whilst incorporating influences from other genres like hip-hop, synth-pop or indietronica. Resulting in a dynamic output - bold, consistently interesting and always pushing the boundaries, it stands as a true reflection of her as an artist and a curator.
 
Her path began in her mid-teens whilst dabbling in music journalism, a spark formed when interviewing DJs & producers who were playing parties in her hometown Poznan in Poland. From then she began collecting music and DJing before eventually finding her way to the front doors of Amsterdam's esteemed creative institute - the SAE. It was here that her burgeoning passion for electronic music was propelled by academic focus beginning a new chapter in her development as an artist. She continued her adventure with education and currently works as advisor at renowned Berklee Music College in Valencia.  As Clash put it - 'VONDA7 is part of a new wave of electronic creation.’ An artist who can turn her hand to anything – hard-working, multifaceted and captivating she remains firmly on her ascent.

"This mix is very special to me as it reflects my versatile essence quite well in just over an hour. There are slower, more mysterious tracks mixed with a few of those tracks that can rip any dance floor apart. My Scandinavian side is represented through Nandu and Radeckt, two artists that I've come to admire deeply over the past year and I couldn't possibly make a mix without adding something by Martin Cozar, one of my absolute favorite producers at the moment. You'll also find some of that distinctive Israeli indie dance sound that I've come to love over the years in there through two killer edits of classic songs (I am a sucker for the classics!) by PINTO. and Made In TLV. Closing the mix with a track by Maceo Plex, who's without any doubt the artist that has inspired me the most this far through my career, was a no-brainer. I truly hope you enjoy this mix as much as I did recording it"

Last month (april) we played our first ever fully live set at Wildwood's great event "wild people".

Huge thanks to the guys for having us as their #91 podcast!

"This week we are honoured to showcase two very good friends of ours, the extremely talented GMJ & Matter. This is the recording of their live set from our most recent event, Wild People."

GMJ (Gavin Martin) & Matter (Matty Doyle) joined forces in late 2015, inspired initially through an interview Matter penned for PHW that showed his understanding of & passion for sound & its connectedness to the bigger picture of life as a whole. A triggered recognition & magnetism for the twos shared perspectives & love for deep atmospheric music led to the formation of the GMJ & Matter collaboration.

Already drawn by a respect for each others unique sound, their meeting point soon saw them in the studio crafting the acclaimed “Superposition ep” for Proton music, which was debuted at 2016 Rainbow Serpent Festival & released afterwards to big success, supported by industry heavyweights including Hernan Cattaneo & Cid Inc. This was followed by the “Osmosis / 11 moons” EP in 2017 which further highlighted the pairs distinct & accomplished sound.

A natural synergy & seamless understanding has seen works flow ever since, including remixes for Pete K & Andre Sobota on Proton Music, the huge of success of their original track “Earthless” on the mighty Anjunadeep, remixing each others work for Particles & PHW elements, a remix for Funkform on Aussie juggernaut Open Records, & many more exciting releases soon to be unveiled.

With constant inspiration raising the heights in reflection, the future is to the stars!
