More so than any other account, TINPE’s daily archival feed seems to have captivated lovers of underground dance music & club culture everywhere. Certainly, it has captivated me & keeps delivering the kind of musical joy that is hard to come by on these socials.

So I’m extra honored to post a guest mix by TINPE creator Ben Manzone. The mix came about through shared musical history: turns out we both used to be DEEP into obscure underground disco. 

15 years ago, Ben (as Benguin), Love On The Run and Fox 50 ran Foreal People, a deep cut disco party that took place in various New York locations. Those included Lucky Cat in BK (long gone) and Meatpacking District’s legendary APT (also long gone, and incidentally first venue I played at in NYC). 

Ben’s new guest mix revisits selections from Foreal People days. And trust me, old records are still fresh! Some of the jams have become better-known via streaming and reissues, while others still remain a little mysterious. No track-listing for now, but Shazam is your friend (except when it isn’t 😎)
