Though it had its own distinct roots, Zionism shared some of the characteristics of the reactionary European movements. It fiercely opposed the anti-colonial and genuine national liberation movements.

The Zionists, while aiming to create a Jewish nation-state, did not seek to acquire territory in Eastern Europe where most of the European Jewish population was concentrated and most violently repressed. Instead, the Zionists offered to make themselves available to be transported as settlers to any number of places in the colonized continents of Asia, Africa and Latin America, before settling on Palestine.

Political Zionism was thus a unique form of narrow nationalism. Lacking its own indigenous land base, it could only hope to succeed as an extension of European colonialism. Unlike any genuine national liberation movement, Zionism was always completely dependent on imperialist sponsorship.

EVANGELIO DEL JUEVES 7 DE ENERO 2021-DESPUÉS DE EPIFANÍA-CICLO B: Mt 4, 12-17. 23-25: «DIOS SE HA VUELTO LOCO DE AMOR».  No sé si empezar diciendo que cada loco con su tema o dos locos con el mismo tema: Jesús y Juan el Bautista. Jesús y su primo son los dos locos cambiando el mundo por coincidir en la misma línea: "CONVIÉRTANSE Y CREAN EN EL EVANGELIO". 

Juan empezó en el Jordán, Jesús en Galilea. Juan es testigo, Jesús es la Luz. Juan es el que bautiza con agua, Jesús con el Espíritu Santo. Y en todo, DIOS LLEVÁNDONOS A LA LOCURA DE LA SALVACIÓN y como camino: LA CONVERSIÓN. Conversión que no es simplemente golpes de pecho, sino el cambio profundo y verdadero del corazón. Un cambio que nos saca de las tinieblas a vivir en la Luz: "Un pueblo caminaba en tinieblas y vio una Gran Luz" (Isaías 9,2). 

Todos, en aquel tiempo como hoy, seguimos saliendo al encuentro de Dios, porque queremos ser curados de toda clase de enfermedad, pero sobre todo las enfermedades del propio corazón, que son las que más daño nos hacen. ¿De qué queremos ser curados? Abramos nuestro corazón a la onda de la salvación, la onda de Papá Dios para cada uno... A Dios le pido que no nos hagamos sordos a su voz...  Sigamos en la lucha, con mi abrazo de FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!
