From the bleak Russian Urals comes young producer Borowsky, delivering two progressive and melodic original tracks for Ready Mix release #233, presented with remixes by Cee ElAssaad and Daniel Testas.

Title track 'Woobona' delivers a palpable sense of space and drama, reflecting those Ural Mountains which loom so large in Borowsky's homeland. But 'Woobona' is tender too, displaying a strong sense of emotion and eclectic musicality. As Borowsky himself puts it: 'I like to mix folklore from different countries with electronic music. This immerses people in a state of love for themselves and the world.' Amen to that, brother!

First up to rework Woobona is Moroccan hotshot Cee ElAssaad, who turns in a typically vibrant and groove-led 'Voodoo' version, creating a potent, percussive Afro-House vibe with a tonne of heart. ElAssaad also delivers a 'Voodoo Dub' version, hypnotic and laced with late-night euphoria; and his 'Voodoo Ambient' mix is the perfect set-starter or DJ tool, slowly building up to a beatless synth climax with tantric levels of patience. 

Next up, Amsterdam's Daniel Testas subtly guides 'Woobona' into more traditional airy progressive house territory with his usual glistening atmospherics, uplifting arpeggios and flawless arrangement.

Borowsky's second original track, 'Lavissia', combines haunting wordless vocals with piercing industrial synths, which make way for an angelic breakdown filled with hangdrum melodies and subtle pads.

Welcome Robin Schellenberg and VRuno on EIN2. The two Berlin based producers deliver some refreshing and spaced out tunes. "Odium" has a groovy rhythm next to a catchy main lead sound. "Korega" is dark and straight forward with a lot of effect sounds and sharp synth shots. "Parametra" is more reduced and features some mystic melodies and thought-out percussion elements. Vanita rounds off the release with a remix in her very own style.

Short Info:

SOSANDLOW means blind faith in rhythm, a doctrine based on love for electronic music and club culture. Being both authentic underground miners with more than 15 years on the game, brought two massive numbers to the table for Stela EP. This could not be missed by adding three hot remixes courtesy of Jepe & Sparrow & Barbossa.

'Liberatae' is a deep track in which the solid groove from thumping drums, drifting slightly chopped vocals and snarling synths, altogether creates a powerful unison. The Sparrow & Barbossa version brings a somehow similar vibe, only difference is their already known afro-vibe touches on the drum sequence and bass heavy that really hypnotizes. Backed with a glorious piano leading to a lot of suspense while the track gradually builds towards the break, where that motif is unveiled in a beautifully melancholy fashion.

Stella is another warm and outstanding gem. Mainly focused on an arpeggiated bass synth, atmospheric touches on the background and a slightly chopped-up male vocal that brings an 80s vibe. Portuguese Jepe adds his own imprint on two versions demonstrating his sophisticated skills, transforming his versions into a trippy ride through edgy analog synths snarls and 80s snares making it a massive dancefloor weapon.

Spring Summer Fall Winter is a quarterly compilation compiled by Davide Squillace to be released on his label This And That Lab. Each edition is split into two parts with this being part B of the fourth edition.

Featuring a selection of styles percussive grooves and uplifting melodies this release includes tracks by Basti Grub, DJ Simi and Last Vision, Affani and Federico Fioretti. Combining tracks from a broad cross section of artists, each edition focuses on textures both audible and visual.

Opening part B of the edition is Basti Grub, who along with many previous releases on This And That has releases on some of electronic music most prestigious labels such as Hot Creations, Mobilee Records, Stil Vor Talent and Get Physical. Quirky vocals and vibrant percussion are a staple of Basti Grub's style, and this seductive track titled 'You Want Me' is true to his trademark sound.

Second is a collaborative track from DJ Simi and Last Vision who despite their many solo productions are joining forces for the first time with their track 'Lithic Phase'. Deep and atmospheric, the tracks stripped back groove mixes trademark elements from their solo contributions to labels such as Great Stuff, Paul's Boutique, Stereo Productions and Snatch! Records.

Providing the third track is veteran producer Affani who has a timeless sound previously featured on labels including Nervous and Bush. Slow, building bass swells as the popping percussion cuts through the gliding pads that combine to give the tracks timeless sound perfect for all occasions.

Closing the release with a deep and spiritual track is Federico Fioretti who has also released on Glasgow Underground. Rich percussive textures and epic melodies blended with ceremonial chanting form the foundation of this uplifting composition that arguably saves the best till last.

Polish dj & music producer Rafa'EL (Movements, Afterglow, Particles)  presents ABSENCE, his first EP on Univack, with 3 amazing original mixes and 2 stunnig remixes by Betoko & Golan Zocher. A perfect combination where each track offers a unique trip with diferent landscapes.

The EP starts with 'Absence', an eclectic downtempo & electronica track, with a perfect harmony between its many complex elements. Slow beak beats, cinematic sounds, magic vocal and chords, and a main arpeggiated synth which will make you fly. The second original track by Rafa'EL titled 'Lighthearter' is a deep progressive house track which makes us dance with our mind and our body, across a magic universe mainly drived by a soulful synth... Perfect for a sunset!  The third original titled 'Yellow Doors' -with its beauty groove, and awesome leads, chords and pads- is probably the most oriented to the dancefloor track  that Rafa'EL has in this release. 

The mexican based in London Betoko(OKO, Diynamic, Katermukke) gets a perfect club version of 'Absence', using the main original synths, and including his own elements to closed an awesome progressive and melodic house track.

The Colombian based in Israel Golan Zocher (The Soundgarden, Proton, Mango Alley) makes his own vision of 'Lighthearter', a bit more clubbing, also deep, and with a perfect lineal progression, only broken by a memorable breakdown.

Maybe this Absence EP is one the most wonderful releases that Univack has edited this year.
