After months spent amidst the depths of the wilds since their passage beneath a great relic of The Dark Age, Scruggs and Sonny Jim stood once more before an object of inscrutable origin, a monolith engraved with the runic language of a long-lost culture. Puzzled, and with a bare amount of literacy available between them, their wizened trigger fingers traced the engraved markings upon the stone as the pair engaged in a once-in-a-lifetime attempt at scholarship.

“Scruggs?”
“Yeah Sonny Jim”
“I ain't got one lick of an idea ‘bout what we’re looking at”

“Yup” was Scruggs’ sole reply as his finger drew towards the end of a particular sentence inscribed upon the monolith’s surface, though he knew it not as such. Then, with a sound the pair would later describe to their fellows around the campfire as “a flash flood and a twig snapping at the same time”, the pair vanished from the space before the monolith.

When they reappeared, the vision before their eyes was unlike any they had ever encountered before. The pair were astounded to find that they seemed to stand upon the very clouds amidst an endless void of darkness inlaid with millions of tiny points of light. Before this minuscule moment of comprehension had ended, the pair were once more bemused by the fact that they seemed to have fallen back to Earth in an instant, landing in an altogether different world than they had ever known. Lying amidst a labyrinth of pyramids graded by steep stone steps, the pair’s vision was overtaken by a brilliant flash of light that preceded the emergence of a plantoid being wrapped in vine, stem, and leaf woven together in mimicry of the human form. Though possessing only the semblance of a mouth, the voice of the SUPREME ENTITY echoed like thunder off of the hard surfaces of the pyramids that surrounded them, imparting a terrifying warning through their ears and directly into the core of their minds.

“Lower beings, the BURR OAK will take over this world. There are no limits. You will be mine, forever."

BURR OAK return to EATBRAIN with their latest single, SUPREME ENTITY, which comes as the first sample of the duo’s forthcoming debut album. The result of their long journey through the wildest of sonic realms, SUPREME ENTITY, and the album for which it stands as the harbinger are set to transform the sonic world of the EATBRAIN horde in the coming months as BURR OAK reveal the path to their sonic home.

Inscribed within the cracked desert soil was a grand runic glyph formed seemingly of purest obsidian, cauterized like a scar upon the heart of the barren landscape surrounding it. In the distance, the remains of a great wood stood silent, likewise devastated by primal flame and later petrified by the desiccating desert winds. In the ages since the great rune had been carved, scant few had dared venture into the inhospitable wasteland even to probe the rumors of magic power that was said to still lurk at its core. Those who did were visited by visions of terror and carnage that lacked even the comfort of decay at the ends of those who experienced the summoning of The Ancient, a being so foolishly bound in rage and desperation by a people long lost to the sands of time and the desert alike.

In these visions, the truths of that time were revealed to those whose eyes were so forced into the past by the latent magics of the land. There had been no victory here amidst the sands that now incorporated particles of human bone, no honor claimed by the brave warriors who fought on either side of this dual conflict, whose blood had boiled and melted their flesh beneath the resplendent bronze of their armor as it shone under the rays of the sun. The Ancient, brought to this plane of existence solely of malice, ignorance, and ego, had become itself suffused by the emotion of its summoners. So much greater was its power that they too were annihilated within its divine flame alongside their enemies and all of the bounties of the land for which they fought. Forever since had it lain barren, bereft of even a single drop of rain in the centuries that had passed, for those who had sought to wield the power of the gods as a weapon, no quarter could ever be given upon this once verdant land of their holy creation.

SCREAMARTS summons a foreboding set of sonics for his DUALITY EP, the Austrian artist’s latest tale within EATBRAIN’s codex and catalog. Drawing inspiration from the dual justifications of human conflicts and the suffering that they bring about, SCREAMARTS presents DUALITY as a cautionary tale of the woe that has long befallen all those of humankind who perpetrate such conflicts no matter their moral aim.

The laboratory had been lost within the haze that had enveloped the nation’s fall, abandoned by the scientists who had conducted their abhorrent experiments upon the abductees they had plucked from those forgotten throughout its decades of slow collapse. Some of those most scrupulous amongst them had simply terminated their tests before their flight, but many still yet languished in the agonies of their ongoing torment, their pleas silenced by the bounds of the facility that held them. As the weeks progressed, many of these unfortunates fell silent as the unrestrained experimental environments that housed them took their ultimate toll, and in the months that followed the facility’s population dwindled into nothingness - all save for two revenant souls trapped within its very core.

Borne of the most horrific trials that the facility had wrought, these twin survivors had clung to life by pure strength of will alone. There, in the complete darkness of their shared isolation, their bodies were rendered unrecognizable and their identities were stripped by all that they had endured. It was the first gentle murmur of a breeze that had awoken them from their years-long torment, a sensation that stirred within them the faintest memory of what once had been. Upon this single lasting memory, the pair swore vengeance upon not only those who had perpetrated their suffering but the whole form of life that had enabled it, and set out from the depths of the laboratory with a single aim, They stood now to return what to them had been given, to unleash unimaginable horror AGAINST HUMANITY as a whole. 

Those of the EATBRAIN horde who seek the thrill of fear should heed the call of AGAINST HUMANITY, who emerge to make their debut on the label with IN THE DARK, the first release from the masked duo that weaves a penchant for cinematic sound design within the Neurofunk rhythms that drive the EP’s four tracks in a fearsome fusion of theme and talent.
