This year irrepressible Italian born electronic producer Roberto Bosco returns with a new EP via his own imprint Last Drop Records, recently founded alongside with his partner in crime Kiny. This EP, that features four tracks, begins in media res with Sonorous Waves Part 1. An ambient intro track that creates the conditions for a mystic and celestial environment that pervades the whole release. Towards the end of the track a psychedelic reflection reshapes the sound: it is the light that filters, crystal clear and bright. The other track on the same side, Part 2, is more dancefloor oriented with a 4/4 beat and multi-layered structure made of typical industrial and techno sonorities. It's evident that they include Roberto Bosco's legacy: stormy emotions but with deep and melodic sound lines. Part 3 is another intro track, starting with spectral sounds that carefully develop into a full sci-fi ambience. Then, finally, part 4 arises with obscure and hypnotics sounds that match very slowly a more perpetual and gentle 4/4 that ends with ups and downs and a syncopated bass.

Uncertain drops heaving five-tracker ‘Escape’ on Rekids Special Projects this November.

Formerly known as Boriqua Tribez, Uncertain has been a driving force in electronic music for over two decades, releasing music under a host of aliases across a number of respected labels. With recent appearances on Kneaded Pains, Suara, and Tronic amongst others, Uncertain now sets his sights to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects, delivering five bone-crushing techno tracks for the label.

Leading the release is the title track ‘Escape’, a high energy start to the EP. ‘Base’ follows with a dose of funk as warped samples and rumbling kicks twist into a rolling groove, before ‘Crush’ brings swinging drums and vocal snippets together for a rowdy cut. ‘Transmit’ marries synth stabs with heavy low-end and subtle hooks before ‘Organic’ closes the release with a direct combination of wonky pads, classic drum machines, and cleverly utilised FX.

Harvey McKay follows up on the release of his second studio long player, ‘Anatomy Of A Drum Machine’, with a new single. ‘On The Drum’ gets a release on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains imprint continuing the strong ties between McKay and the label.
 
Panel beating kicks and rasping acid bubbles characterise the title track’s minimalistic charms, as McKay ramps up the intensity midway with coarse hats and a monotone vocal.  Sometimes, simplicity is everything, and on ‘On The Drum’, this is certainly the case.
 
Accompanying track ‘Mechanic’ is typically frenetic and rapid, as McKay rattles through crispy drum machine patterns and head scrambling tones for an intense and fierce techno mind melter!  
 
The seasoned producer/DJ from Glasgow has notched up an impressive catalogue of releases for labels such as UNCAGE, Perc Trax, Cocoon, Filth On Acid, Soma Quality Recordings and many more, always delivering well-polished and effective techno cuts.

This February, Rekids look to the venerable talents of Len Faki for three fantastic remixes of tracks from FBK's 2019 debut album, ‘More Stories From The Future’.

For two decades, German artist Len Faki has towered over the techno underground thanks to his renowned DJ sets at cult venues like Berghain, and his always on point productions. They have come on staples like Ostgut Ton and Cocoon, but mostly on his own powerhouse outlet Figure. Over the years, Faki has provided a number of excellent remixes on Rekids, including Dustin Zahn and Radio Slave himself, thus it’s incontestable that he’s the best person to remix Kevin Kennedy’s incredible album – and the result speaks for itself.

Up first is his ‘Hardspace Mix’ of 'Headless', which becomes a sublime seven-minute techno roller. Utterly hypnotic throughout, it has looped one-word vocals, smooth claps and wiry synth lines all intertwined with perfectly rubber kicks. The excellent mix of 'I'll Sit Back' builds to a more manic peak, with hammering hits and steel-plated drums all demanding you march to the increasingly dark techno groove as a vocal repeat’s the title over and over. Finally, the mix of 'Hassling' is built on hulking great drums that will rattle warehouse walls, and has dub techno chords draped throughout: it finds a perfect sweet spot between irresistible functionality and atmospheric form.
