Gendhing structure refers to colotomic structure of gamelan compositions in general. Gendhing (also written, as in the old orthography, gending) can also be used to refer to a specific class of colotomic structures used in Javanese gamelan music. Gamelan is traditional ensemble music of Java and Bali in Indonesia, made up predominantly of percussive instruments. The most common instruments are metallophones played by mallets as well as a set of hand played drums called kendhang which register the beat. Gamelan is still commonly played in formal occasions and in many traditional Indonesian ceremonies, gamelan is an integral part of Indonesian culture. Inspirit - Corporate Background Music

The bedug (Javanese: bedhug) is Indonesian traditional drum. It is also used among Muslims in Java in religious purposes.

Bedug is made as a big double-barreled drum, with water buffalo leather on both sides. The bedug is suspended from a rack and played with a padded mallet. It is similar in size or larger to the largest kendang, or similar to the Japanese taiko. Its sound is generally deeper and duller than that of the kendang.
