Originating from the UK and now calling Naarm (Melbourne AU) home, NIIX is known for her dark and tech-infused sonic landscapes. Her prowess extends across a multitude of genres, seamlessly navigating the intricate terrains of techno, breaks, UK garage, 140 BPM, jungle, footwork, and drum and bass.

With a deep appreciation for the diverse tapestry of UK bass music, NIIX effortlessly transitions between tempos ranging from 100 to 174 BPM. Her performances are a testament to her skill, expertly guiding her audience on a sonic expedition that traverses the spectrum from high-energy fervor to transcendent euphoria.

NIIX has graced venues such as Brown Alley, Section 8, 24 Moons, and Rubix Warehouse, to name but a few. Her talent has garnered recognition and she has shared stages with producers like Ivy Lab, Culture Shock, Skeptical, Dimension and Phibes. My closing set for the launch party of Lowfreq., a new showcase of all things deep and dark. Massive props to all of the DJs that performed and spun some wicked deep dub, left-field bass and IDM.

This set journeys from 140 deep dub, through 160 half-time and footwork, and finishes on some moody and techy dnb. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did playing it out!

With this instalment of our mix series, we are in for a treat… introducing Bass Toner! 

Evan has been kicking out the jams for three decades, navigating through a variety of sounds and projects on his sonic journey.  He has spent a multitude of time sculpting his sounds and refining his techniques in clubs and at festivals. With a broad taste and knowledge of multiple genres, Evan always delivers flawless sets that continue to bring fans, old and new, to the joint whenever he is on the decks.

With this mix, he comes to us with his latest exploration in sound, Bass Toner.

Bass Toner is inspired by one of the most influential artists in Evan’s DJ style, Phil K. especially the Distinctive Records release: Phil K Presents: Y4K. Bass Toner sends a nod to Evan’s roots as a vinyl DJ exploring broken and breakbeat, while guiding you on a journey towards his more recent explorations across drum ‘n bass and the wider bass music landscape.

Bringing forth punchy bass lines through to tech steppas expect nothing less than a stacked platter of OneForty, Dnb and everything between. 

Alongside DJing Reegze is also a co-host of The Brisbane Drum and B4ZZZ Show airing every Sunday at 10pm on 4ZZZ (Zed Digital) and is a regular supporter of Underground Bass events within South East Queensland
