Sidney Charles has been busy cooking up more gold in the studio, and this time for Do Not Sleep. He starts 2020 with two dance floor weapons, and the release comes hot on the heels of the launch of his own label, Heavy House Society and once again another year of non-stop touring.

Charles' new EP has a classic old school Chicago style to it. First up, Groovy Mushroom Feat. Lady Vale is a slick and soul enriched track with deft stabs, drums that will sweep you off your feet and plenty of authentic US house vibes to make it all the more timeless. Fire vocals add fuel to the flames and make sure this one will utterly destroy the floor. Then comes 'The Pump'  with its tough hits, driving bass that is deep down and dirty, and plenty of raw percussive energy all getting you on your toes.  Finally Demuir steps up with a killer 'Playboy Edit' of The Pump which takes this release to a whole new level of wonky naughtiness when its comes to a bass line.

GLADIATOR (Reelow Remake)

Kareem Cali & LaRosa link up for a debut EP on Sidney Charles's hard hitting Heavy House Society this March, while groove master Nick Beringer serves up a superb remix. 

Kareem Cali & LaRosa have linked many times before on originals and remixes that have helped define the house agenda in recent years. They have a laid back but warm style that is functional but full of subtle detail and studio charm. 

Opener B21 is a brilliantly off-kilter tune with warped synths and tripped out details all making it perfect after party fodder. The drums are driving underneath it all, so will be irresistible to the floor. Over Ground is more stripped back but just as punchy, with rubbery kick drums and squelchy synths making for a hugely dynamic groove that is infectious and restless. 

Rubisco label owner Nick Beringer then steps up after establishing himself as a real underground talent thanks to cult EPs on the likes of Raum, Berg and Taverna Tracks. His version is perfectly hazy and dazed. The balmy pads swirl around like a warm wind, the hi hats are delicate as they spin above the kinetic kicks, and the whole thing oozes warmth and class. 

This is another essential EP from this already standout label.

We are pleased to have back on Roush to Zamoras, our beloved duo of Venezuelan brothers. They strike back with Ricochet, a funny 2 side EP after his 'Bee Ass' released last December on Roush. With a busy agenda, now stopped due to major forces, Zamoras brothers have been working on new tracks not only for Roush, they've also have founded Jet Lag Records, their very first label. Regarding to their new EP, title cut 'Ricochet' opens with a groovy pattern provided by the straight drum and the funky bassline which modulates as the track goes in crescendo. Vocal shouts and a clever arrangement helps to maintain the vibe. Next up, 'Take It Off' is an electro infused tech-house composition where the squared bass is the main ingredient.

MIX SERIES 021 - Lou Wilson (UK)

Perth's Shroom has cemented himself as one to watch, by flying the flag for the minimal/deep tech sound evolving in Aus. He's released a calibre of releases on imprints such as Circa Trax, LVCHLD, Obvious records, David San's Miniline, and Eject Records UK. His recent release 'The Music' is one for everyone and made some organic chart action on Beatport, it's one of our favourites, and the reason we love Shroom. 
His signature sound always has some groovy flavour and has received support from Luuk van Dijk, Tommy Vercetti, & Jordan Brando to name a few.

This mix is the start our guest mix series, where we showcase our sound and support our collective of like-minded music lovers. Shroom has signed a two-track EP with us, and it's a stomper!! To celebrate, he's made us this mix to kick start Summer.

The Barcelona-based Solid Grooves resident has been rolling nonstop over the last ten years, making people jive to his twisted minimal and tech house beats is the fruit of his crazy and lively personality.
