Reenah Oshun Golden is an award winning writer, actress, poet, activist and educator. For over 15 years Reenah has been using the power of the Spoken Word publicly to affect social and political change and create new ways of thinking. She teaches and guest lectures regularly at local schools, colleges, universities and cultural institutions and has been invited to perform and present nationally and internationally. A native of Rochester, NY, Reenah is co-founder of Kuumba Consultants, an arts-in-education agency dedicated to matching artists-of-color with youth agencies and schools seeking quality arts & cultural programming.  She has received several local, national and international grants and awards for her work including the Edith Glick Sholman Children's Foundation grant and Partners of the Americas Education and Culture travel grant. Reenah is a New York State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Awardee and the 2006 Writers & Books Teacher of Young People Literary Awardee. 

Reenah's solo performance of Nilaja Sun’s No Child has received critical acclaim and opened to sold-out audiences at Geva Theatre, Syracuse Stage and toured nationally and internationally. Black Coffee; the Poets’ cafe currently evolving through production with live studio audience workshops has received rave reviews for it’s innovative marriage of art, history, improvisation and audience interaction. Reenah's collaborative works can also include a TEDx presentation, To Mothers of Suns [http://youtu.be/0BA1odJu0NM] and a new work Lessons Yet to Learn; a choreopoem for working womban currently touring.
