Since I really liked the song, I decided to give it a shot! Not a fan of the song title though. It reminds me of the other (annoying) T-shirt song that doubles as an advertisement for Hanes.

My attempt at covering Bon Iver's Holocene may be humble and may not even begin to compare to the original track, but the mere existence of this song is calling out to me. I can't let a lifetime pass without even trying my hand at covering it. And so I did. :)

I'm definitely not the best at violin or percussions, or at mixing tracks even (it's all experimental from here) but I did have fun adding layers of different things to the flat track. I originally wanted a stripped down version but I guess with Garageband and a music room full of odd bits and bobs that make sound, you can't really help but add more. And more. And more.

I do hope you like it! :) I also designed my own track art for my Holocene cover which was inspired by the breathtaking music video of the song. :)

I guess it's the lack of activity on my Soundcloud that made me post this recording from 3 years ago! Before I had a Taylor and proper recording equipment and all that jazz! There's that annoying left to right panning effect that I put there, I KNOW. I don't have the original file anymore so I can't change it but let's take it for how it has been made?

I don't know if people are familiar with this song by Imogen - this might be my favorite song in the universe. Kind f changed my life, sort of, in a weird way. This is a tribute of sorts. 

Recorded the night before Ondoy. If you listen closely, you'll hear Ondoy rain immortalized towards the end of the track.

Can't Take It In (Instrumental from 3 years ago lols)

It's my weeklong break from school and I promise to record a new original song by this week! But for now!

Ed Sheeran is a brilliant singer / songwriter and although I adore his + album, it's my first time recording a cover of one of his songs. Small Bump is such a tender and fragile song, and I sincerely hope I did good in this cover!

I recorded this at 4am in the morning of my sister's High School graduation. I haven't had any proper sleep yet, but I figured this would be my sincere (also read: cheap) grad gift for her. 

I really thought about the most appropriate "send-off" song to cover for her. I ran through a lot of options in the car ride back home last night, but I just suddenly, fleetingly thought of Landslide and thought it was actually so perfect.

As a shy and reserved kid, her little world in High School is all she has ever known. Soon, she's going off to UP Diliman to pursue greater heights. College is such a different ballgame that she feels so apprehensive about what's to come. But all I can tell her is this:

College may be the most wonderful four years of your life, if you let it. It's your chance to start over, to discover new places, to experience new things (like riding a jeep lol). It's your chance to build new relationships, to invest in new people, and to find pursuits to fall passionately in love with. 

This is you, moving forward. So don't be afraid of change. :)

I wanted to update my Soundcloud despite my chaotic and busy state, so I asked a friend for suggestions of songs that I could cover quickly. He suggested this Deathcab song (which happens to be a faaavorite) and I forgot how beautiful the words of this song are. So then it has been decided.
