Lunar: "of, determined by, or resembling the moon."

I am so happy to finally have this out. This project is meant to be listened to start to finish, as one whole piece. It is definitely more of a listening experience rather than to be played at shows. The inspiration for this E.P came after being at a show where the artist playing had an eclipse as one of his visuals. I immediately had the name and concept for the project, but no songs. I have been working on this for a quite some time and this truly has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. Music does not come easy to me at all. Having no music production or theory background, I pretty much knew nothing when I began this project (very little knowledge of Ableton). I would tinker and tinker make small progress or generate an idea, then step away, learn something new via reading or YouTube then come back and try to apply what I learned. This was a bit of a double edged sword because as the project progressed and got bigger I would learn technical parts of production and then have to go back to all the songs and apply what I just learned which was time consuming. During all this time there would be months where I wouldn't work on anything, in fact I did close to zero work on this project in 2020 or any music production for that matter. I can't count the amount of times I got stuck or almost gave up on it. I knew what I wanted it to be, sound, and feel like and I struggled so much through the mixing phase to achieve what I wanted. The project lingering as long as it did was definitely not good for my progress, productivity on other music, or creativity. I reached a point where I finally liked the songs and that made it even harder to release them when I knew they didn't sound even close to how I wanted them to. There still are things that probably aren't "right" but this is about the best I can do at this time. For so long I have wanted to make my own music, and I wanted this first piece to be all mine in everyway. After all this time I am proud that this turned out the way it did, thankful for all I learned, happy its over, and so excited to move on. My approach to making music has developed and changed so much throughout this process and I can't wait to share more music in the future. Thank you all so much for listening, hope that you enjoy.
