This is the first set of songs written and recorded at the new music production and recording studio at Garrett Morgan School of Leadership and Engineering. Students learned how to record and edit their vocals after creating their own message through song. They saw how a mic booster and pre-amp are each used to adjust the amplitude of the sound wave and how acoustic foam soaks up sound waves in the room to avoid reverberation. Enjoy these songs! This is the title track off upcoming 7-song record "Midlife Crisis" that jumps into the joys and contradictions of midlife. As Hip-hop turns 50 and Quill turns 45, this song is a callback to the loop-based music that kicked off Quill's obsession with emceeing and a look forward to a generative life despite addictions and setbacks.
