This mix is a very special one featuring either tracks from my label Zatar Music or tracks I released in the recent past on other labels.

From the label of Behrouz ‚Do Not Sit‘, a label which was born from his little club in Miami, where I always play when in town to the label from my resident club in Berlin Ritter Butzke. On the way we make a little stop at Jordan’s club Vudu in Amman by my core Zatar artists Fairplay. As you can see from there this mix is like my label: a family affair. Tracks from old and new friends releasing on Zatar or me releasing on friends labels.  As Zatar is showcasing music with an Afro Arabic Melodic House sound, you can get a little feeling for this with this mix.

BLEND Radio with Alice Monnat

Born and raised in Frankfurt, cultural activist Alex Azary is one of the bedrocks
of the cities music and club scene. Being a long time friend and companion of
Sven Väth since beginning of the 80s, he witnessed and experienced the awakening
of the international electronic movement during the 90s. Together with Sven
he toured the world, playing all major festivals and cult clubs across the globe.
 
Besides being known as DJ and Producer, the list of groundbreaking nationally
and internationally acclaimed projects, clubs, events and companies he is
responsible for seems to be endless and includes Frankfurt cult clubs XS, Royal,
Dorian Gray, Technoclub, Euphoria, Holy X Mas Rave, Frontpage Magazine,
AMV Distribution, ICM Music Publishing, A.I.M., G.E.M., Elektrolux, Elux Records,
Mikrolux, Phono Elements, psi49net, PV Records, Hey Babe!, Space Night, 
Flowmotion …. and many many others… his contributions to club culture and 
the development of electronic music can’t be underestimated. He really is one 
of the true innovators and pioneers of the movement.
 
His latest project is perfectly summing up his experiences in those domains:
with MOMEM – Museum Of Modern Electronic Music, which will open later
this year in Frankfurt, he is founding the world’s first museum for electronic
music and club culture. Still, one of his driving impulses remains his passion
and interest for new and innovative music and sound. This is why he never
really gave up on following and playing the music he loves and which made
him do what he did.

For many years Re:Fresh Your Mind (R|Y|M) has been a pillar of subcultural development in the Rhine-Main area and on a national level mainly focusing on event organization. Though the events have expended lately not only in Frankfurt but also on a national level due to its musical diversity and generally speaking because of its openness towards changes in the scene.  Understandably Re:Fresh Your Mind is conceived as a platform for a subcultural exchange between artists and music lovers initiated by SKAI and his Re:Fresh family, which include a few well respected DJs. With the label-launch of R|Y|M Records earlier this year Re:Fresh Your Mind-basis enhanced its reputation in the scene and takes another step in its development. Therefore, Frankfurt based SKAI teamed up with Gorge, who is well respected for his solo-productions and of course his works with Nick Curly. You never know what to expect next, but be sure it won't be anything you can be certain about when talking about R|Y|M - Re:Fresh Your Mind.
